Do you suffer from anxiety attacks or know someone that does? How does it affect you? How do you deal with it? I have had anxiety attacks since age 11.

Welcome to Mylot Mellowyellow98! You are not alone. I have suffered anxiety attacks for as long as I can remember. Many times there seems to be no reason for them and no warning. It can certainly be a negative in your day to day life. The way that I have come to deal with them is to remove myself to a quiet area, but I know this is not always possible. I try and be alone for a few minutes and take deep breathes while thinking calming thoughts. Usually, after 30 minutes or so the feeling will pass me by. I hope you find something that works for you!

Hi Mellowyellow, Welcome to Mylot. I had what is known as Selective Mute. It is a form of anxiety. I had it all my life and truthfully, I don't imagine that anxiety attacks differ much from these. Any form of anxiety and my body reacted...even the good kind like getting ready for an exciting event or something. It's hard to describe but not only could I not talk...it was more than that. All motor skills would freeze up and so would my thinking. I not only could not answer the simplest question...couldn't even think of the answer. Well, what worked for me and also worked for my daughter who also had Selective Mute was getting a job in the public. Trust me...I did not take the job in hopes of it helping. I really was desperate for work and it was all that was available at the time. It was a convenience store. Oh what a nightmare at first! I hated it!! I only stuck it out because I had kids to feed. Well by and by, I got more and more comfortable. I even started liking the job. Haven't had but a few random attacks in years. My daughter did the same and it worked for her also.

I only suffer from normal anxiety. You know, the one with 'butterfly in your stomach' before presentation or something big, not something that always put you on the edge. I don't know much about anxiety attacks. It's best to consult professional in solving this issue or talk to your family as they'll be able to help you.

Thankfully I never have, and I am grateful, as I have known people who had and it can be potentially problematic if it happens at an unfortunate time. Then again, when an anxiety time happens all of the time, it might as well be an unfortunate time but that is beside the point. Still not going to be something that I am disappointed with not happening. I'll be honest with you, life is stressful enough when you are a normal healthy person. With anxiety attacks, that tends to compound everything one hundred and ten percent. It is a scary road. And you never know when they seem to strike from what I have seen from other people. One minute a person could seem fine and then boom. It is rather scary.

Very seldom now. I get anxiety attacks when I was young around 13 years old. They say it's because of puberty. :D stupid jokes lol. Anyways, I get anxious over petty stuff. I'm always tense and worried. I always believe I would die the next day or I wont be seeing my parents anymore as they are getting older. Pretty funny right. But as I get older, I don't get as anxious as before anymore. Well, maybe it's because I indulge myself in music. Classical and romance musics. If your asking a cure, I'd advice you not to get medication. I don't trust medicine. Haha.. Well, just believe in yourself. Everything is just in your brain. It's not real. Yeah, and that's true . So yea, hope that helps. Listen to more music and enjoy
