first you will have your own star when you reach a user/activity rating( the number in parenthesis right after your username) of 100. The number inside that star is our mylot reputation which is base on the ratings given by fellow mylotters to our posts. So if you will contribute good quality posts that is meaningful, informative or useful your post will more likely be rated as a positive by fellow members which will help your reputation.

The star is your 'MyLot Reputation' and depends on how other members rate your posts using the '+' and '-' buttons next to them. You don't get to see your star until you have a User Rating of 100. User Rating is (more or less) how many discussions you have been involved in - it is not a 'post count' as such because once you have posted once in a discussion (as a response) it doesn't increase any more, however many comments you may post in that discussion (though you DO earn for everything you type!). The best thing to do to understand all about the star, the User Rating and the Discussion Rating System is to look at these FAQ pages: User Rating & MyLot Reputation: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx Discussion Rating System: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx

The star next to your name is your reputation score on the site. You need to have 100 responses made before your rating begins. The range is from 0-10. Ten is the highest level you can achieve. This information is in the FAQ section under reputation and responses under the myLot tab's guidelines if you want to read more about it. The rating system is designed to go up and down depending upon the responses you make, how you contribute and how others like or dislike the information that is provided. Hope this helps!

why it has different colors?like green, silver, yellow?

There is no difference in the colors except that they are a different shade as you go up in numbers. I think it is just a new look for you when you move from one number to the next. There isn't anything in the guidelines that makes the color coding mean anything except that it is associated with a different number. You'll have your star soon!

I get the star when I reach 100 post (discussions+responds) and the star number will increase or decrease depending to your rating, more positive rating you get, your star number (mylot reputations) will increase, and more negative rating you get, your star number will decrease, keep mylotting!!!!!!
