Hi, I'm 15 and I have a swimming competition in a day. I have to do 4x100m of breastroke, butterfly and freestyle but the thing is, I'm not good at neither of these and I get tired halfway. I can't dive properly either. I have less than a day to practice tomorrow. I'll try my best tomorrow but how do I swim 400 meters without getting tired in less than a day?

Well, don't give up. I'm sure the best of the world of swimming gets tired too. You are a better swimmer than you think. Just keep telling yourself that and you will come up on top and if not well, you can't say you never tried. Its the ones who never try at what they like who are the failures.

Being a sportsman, l can say that there is shortage of stamina in you. So dont keep high expectation from this competion. Winning or losing is not that important. Participating in the competition and giving your best is the main thing. Please dont try any steroids for this as they have side effects sooner or later. So give your best and leave the rest. Good luck

Hi acrossnation I believe swimming is more about stamina and understanding the body - you have to store and preserve oxygen in your lungs. I think running is good to gain on in stamina front. ps: I never have learned swimming and so I am not the right person to suggest. But I have read that swimming is all about more of stamina.

Who says you are not good? I think if you join a swimming competition you have to be good or? Just start (start not too fast and go faster the further you are so you are not completely broke half away) concentrate on your style and breathing and focus on the end goal and yourself. Believe in yourself and you will make it. I wish you luck.
