The Grammy Awards

I am watching The Grammy's. Am I the only one who thinks that it is really boring? The music is really disappointing. I thought that both Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney were dull. I do not know if it has anything to do with the death of Whitney or if they are just burned out on the industry. They had no oomph in their performance. it might be that the show is overproduced. It's stiff. Given the circumstances, Bruce said something that did not seem appropriate. he opened the show with something like "is anyone out there still alive?" His choice of words are being described as "unfortunate" on the internet but apparently he opens all his shows with the same words.

I loved it! Bruce is sitting Shiva for Clarence Clemens. So if he seemed " Flat" that could be a reason. I found him good. And Sir Paul? His new ballad tells me he truly loves his new bride and it sent chills down my spine. And it was fun to see the jam session at the end.Whitney Loved the Grammys I have been told . She was in town for Clive and the Grammys is hi big night so I ha e no problem with them going on with the show and Jennifer's Ode was magical. She held it together.I feared she would lose it with that pause before the last phrase But she held on. I love how she appeared , sang and then slipped away. It was perfect. And it was great to see Glenn Campbell and the Beach Boys. And Katy Perry's second song was a F@ck Off to her soon to be ex. It was my favorite performance of the evening! This is the first Grammys I have seen in a very , very long time and it was great!

I am glad that you loved and had a great time at The Grammy's. I liked the host or emcee. Was it LL Cool? he did a really good job. One one of my morning talk shows, he was described a a class act. And that is true. Some of the music was OK. A lot was not. at least that is my opinion. Maybe some of your enjoyment came from having not seen The Grammy's in a very long time. Just seeing the show was a treat for you.

Adele is great. This was her first performance since throat surgery. That is why her Standing O was so long! I like her style too. She just stands there and sings. I loved her dress!

I no longer know the popular and very popular acts. But I try to keep current. One way that I do that is through shows like The Grammy's. I was really impressed with Adele. I had mainly only heard her name. I like her simple style.

I actually have to say that I didn't watch the Grammys at all because of the fact that I had other things that I needed to get done. With that said, I saw that a lot of my friends on facebook thought that the music and performances were wonderful, so I really don't know what to think about it. I do, however, have to say that I do think that the fact that Whitney Houston passed away just before the awards show did probably put quite a damper on the spirit of the show this year.

Most of the mylotters responding to my discussion agree with your friends. I spoke to co-workers who thought the show was great. However, the next morning, I listened to one of my favorite talk shows. I knew that they would be discussing the Grammy's and they agreed with me. LL Cool, the host, was great. There was some good entertainment but though there were some giant disappointments. It is a good thing that I am not the final word on the Grammy's.

I always think this about grammy awards the singers and bands seen more interested in getting their awards or promoting themselves rather than putting on a good performance for their fans.

Award shows often seem to be very self serving and sometimes phony. A lot of the celebrities and V.I.P's seemed to be trying too hard last night. They looked stiff. Maybe you can not have all that many famous people all in the same room. But it could have something to do with the shocking and untimely demise of Whitney Houston. They may have been in shock. Some of the performances were good but others weak. I am listening to one of my favorite morning talk shows right now and there has been discussion about The Grammy's. The personalities on the talk show are saying the same things that I have been saying.
