I just finished reading a book by a Danish author. It is story about a mentally ill man who finds a wallet in the street and creates a fantasy about the woman who owns the wallet. He imagines that the woman is his girlfriend. He even buys presents for his imaginary girlfriend. In the wallet he has found some receipts from the coffeeshops in the city and a picture of some women and he start visiting those coffeeshops in order to see the woman and her friends. At the end of books he commit suicide because he feels that he did something embarrassing and ruined his chances with her. In a way it is a very sad story, but it is very well written, and I am really impressed. The author is completely unknown and it is her very first book. I can't wait to read other books by the same author and I hope that she will keep on writing. Have you ever read a really good book by a totally new author? Who was the author and what did you like about the book?

I'm sure that book would be good to read! I have read a book called "king of the pygmies" from the a writer named Jonathan Scott Fuqua, I don't know if he is a new author, but I really liked his book. It was a story about a child experiencing early symptoms of schizophrenia, but that disorder was unknown before, so he just thought he had special powers, like reading the minds of other people and predicting the future. It was also nicely written.

That sounds like a really interesting book. I will write down the name of the author and the title of the book, because it definately sounds like something that I would like to read. Maybe it has been translated to Danish, but if there is no translation I will look for the English version instead.

Do you want to read a book that is guaranteed to keep you awake all night? Read "Bird Nest" by Jack Waggoner (Dorrance Publishing). A huge, ultra-modern stadium is built in China to host the Olympics. It was destroyed instantly when a nuclear bomb exploded. The body count was in the tens of thousands.

I looked up the "Bird nest" when I had read your response, I haven't heard about that book before. I can imagine that it is book that is hard to put down. It is a very scary situation to think about, and your description made me curious to find out more about story like the background and the things that happened before the nuclear bomb exploded.

What is the author, and the name of the book? You seemed to have to left that out! I honestly haven't really read any 'new' authors, not that I'm aware of. I just started reading a writer that is new to ME, if that counts, but I think she's been around for quite some time, her name is Iris Johansen - but it's just a crime/mystery novel, not really anything as coming-of-age as this one seems to be about. Glad you found a book to enjoy, though!

The author is Danish, she is called Maike Raahauge, and the name of the book is "Pungen" which means the "The wallet" I don't know if it has been translated to English, but I think that it ought to get translated I haven't heard about Iris Johansen, I don't read that much crime or mystery. and I am not really familiar with the authors from that genre.

This story sounds very interesting. I believe it can bring the reader into the world of the character written in it. Such a good work for a first time writer. I have not read any novel lately due to the long festivities and holiday. Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day just over. I guess I better visit my neighborhood mall to browse for an interesting book to read.

Yes, exactly, I think that the author was very good at bringing the reader into the world of the protaganist. It was fascinating to read about the fantasy world that he created for himself. Another thing that I really liked about the story was the way that author surpriced me in the last chapter. I never guessed those things, the clues where there, but I didn't see them. I love it when authors surprice me that way, it made the story even better in my opinion.

I haven't read White fang, but I have heard a bit about the book and it sounds interesting. It is a great feeling to read a book by a fantastic author. I read a lot, but I don't like all of the books that I read, so it is very nice to find a book that I just can't put down, because it is so interesting and well-written. I was very positively surpriced when I read the book that I mentioned when I started the discussion, I didn't know the author at all, but I think that she is a very good author.

The name of the author is Maike Raahauge and the name of the book is "Pungen" (the wallet) It is a Danish book and I don't think that it has been translated to English (yet?) because it is still very new, it was published in 2011. I hope that it gets translated because I think that readers from other countires would enjoy the story, too
