Just now I read in newspaper about lifting a child and selling it to a childless couple. Yesterday a guy of my area kidnapped a one year young boy and sold it to a childless couple for mere 3000 rupees!! The guy says, the couple had requested him to steal a boy baby and sell them. The police have arrested the guy and the couple who bought it. My question here is why the couple will do this? Are they not doing wrong by devoiding one couple of their baby? If they can’t have baby of their own, they can adopt one through voluntary organizations; we have many such, who collect abandoned babies from road sides, under the bushes, in train compartments. These are illegitimate babies from unmarried moms. Earlier such incident occurred here, but they are getting more common these days. Do such incidents occur at your place? Please respond, comment on this and share your opinion. Thanks in advance. Let’s enjoy life to fullest. Professor ‘*^Bhuwan^*’. . 17/2/2012.

i guess it is an isolated case. there is probably something like that though in other countries as well. but the think that makes me try to analyze is how come couples take from others when they can get adopt so many the legal way. ann

This is another form of scams. People kidnap children and sell them to couples who don't know any better or don't care. Just one more way for these idiots to make big money. It has been done here in the US alot. Sad.

I have not heard this happening alot here in the USA. Couples who can't have children go through a n adoption agency for a baby. Some couples do use an surrogate mother to have a baby if they can't themselves. Then there are stories of woman having babies not wanting them and abandoning them in like dumpster! Must of these babies die! Then there are so many children born to unwed mothers who would be better off given them up for adoption! Anyway another discussion there! Alot of couples go over seas,to adopt babies because they are more are available like in China and in other countries.

This is every common in a lot of place even in the US but normally the couples do not know they are adopting a child that has been taken away from there parents and the parents didn't give up there rights legal to be adopted. I'm sure the guy was saying that the couple told him to but in reality they didn't. They where paying the adoption fee for a baby the thought had no home. A lot of crazy people will do this for quick money and most children that are wanted are boys, with blond hair and blue eyes.

It happens all over the world. People want a baby and some times they will do anything to get a baby even if that means doing it illegal or doing it illegal think its legal because they are being flood.

few days ago I watched news about a mom who seold her 2 lil childrens for money. I think it's because economic matter she did that. But one thing I cant understand is: if she can't afford to raise her kids then why she gave a birth? I mean if she wasn't sure about her economic matter to support her life with some kids, then simply don't have kid till she is ready, right? Almost chidren trafficking are about economic problem. But for me it's because the parent has no responsible for what they had done. They have no plan about their future life.

Wow what a terrible thing to have happen. There are so many people out there who do not want their children and give them up for adoption it is so horrible that someone would steal a child from someone else just to have a child. That is so wrong. I'm sure its happened here in the united states nut I dont recall any specific cases.

Hi Professor, Thankfully kidnapping babies and selling them like this doesn't seem to be common where I live, but I've heard of it before, just not in this area. I agree with you that it isn't necessary to go to such extremes to adopt a baby and I'm pleased that all involved in this incident have been arrested. It has to be the most terrible ordeal than any parent has to deal with. Blessings.

Unfortunately such incidents also occur in my country;I haven't heard about kidnapped children recently, but I read about cases of poor parents, especially from rural areas, willing to sell their children to rich couples from Western Europe who couldn't have babies of their own. They were caught by the police and will go to prison for what they did,but I can't understand how they could be so heartless to get rid of their own children.Unfortunately, many poor people still have lots of children because they don't protect themselves and when faced with the difficulties of raising them, they try to solve he problem by selling their own children. It's a sad reality and I'm afraid it will take a long time until it's eradicated.

Hello Professor, Its terrible! How can someone do that for just 3000 Rs?. Yes there are legal ways for adopting kids but really they are difficult to follow i think thats the reason people go for shortcuts and do crime. In our country there are lots of orphanage homes where there are lots of kids just waiting for someone to adopt them whom they can call their parents but people really don't go there but think of things which certainly is a crime and don't hesitate for stealing baby from his/her mother.

Hi Professor, It's a bad news indeed and I feel terrible that the couple would resort onto hiring a guy just to have a baby.. Perhaps they do this because they wanted to avoid the complexity of the process in adopting a baby.. Like in our place, when you wanted to adopt a baby, the government/court will be checking if you are qualified for it - e.g. checking your financial status, your family background, etc.. There are also a lot of documentation required... I have also watched a movie similar to this... and the reason is that they find excitement and thrill aside from getting the baby... Hopefully, these happenings will stop...
