I did some exercise last monday and then, the day after that my muscles got very sore and are still sore now. I just did a couple of bicep curls with dumbells and a few push ups. Maybe it was because I don't do it often and I am quite fat. I want to know when this pain will go away so that I can do more exercise cause I'm trying to lose weight. Right now, My biceps, triceps and even my stomach hurts. Is that normal? Thanks in advance for your answers. :)

soreness in muscles are normal man. I've been working out for three years and i still feel muscle soreness. Muscle soreness signifies that you had a good workout. Keep it up.

Perfectly normal. You are using muscles that you normally do not use. Keep up the good work. It means you are really working your muscles out. If you start having cramps you might want to try eating bananas. Bananas contain potassium that helps keep your muscles from cramping. Keep up the good work.

At first you are going to hurt and be hurting for a wile too. You can always get some muscle rub and rub it in to were it is hurting of course and hope that helps you out, but when ever you first start back up exercising its going to hurt and hurt pretty bad too. Now i can tell you that when i do things it hurts me too and im like what the heck but its life and every ones the same with that. Now if you go running you will see that thats also pretty hard on yourself and you will be hurting the next day as well. If you start wakling up and down stairs your going to se that your tired and hurting the next day and not want to do anything. Its just our bodies react to things.

No pain, no gain man. If you exercise and you don't fell anything, you have just wasted your time. Every muscle that is trained , after a period of long relaxation in going to hurt a little bit, but it is just the way your body informs you that it was not in vain. In fact, what happens when you exercise is that old muscular tissue literally breaks, and when it heals it grows bigger and stronger. That is the reason for the pain. Keep up the good work man.

This happens to me when i went to gym too! It's okay, and it's normal, but the best way to avoid this is that u have to do some warming up exercises before starting doing the work out. or perhaps, if u haven't done any exercise for a long time, this might be the reason, your muscles are not used to do the hard exercises.. hopefully it's useful.. remember to do some warming up exercises~

Good on you for tackling your weight issue, it's never easy but always worth it. Muscle pains are quite normal for someone not used to exercise of that level. It damages your muscles and they are not somewhat battered and need to heal. If I were you I would persevere with light exercise as if you leave it too long, every time you try something it will be sore again. Gradually build yourself up. Part of losing weight is gently elevating your heart rate, keeping it up and then slowly and carefully lowering it. Take a 3 mile walk for example - take it easy but purposefully for the first mile, then push on faster for a mile, then slow down again to a reasonably normal walking pace to allow your hear to slowly come back to its normal rhythm. In order to stave off as much pain as possible, be sure to gently warm up any muscles with stretching exercises before doing curls etc. and then cool down with some more stretching when you're done. It'll minimise the hurt the next day.

On Monday I went to a Body Balance class and found it very challenging indeed. I woke up the next day and didn't have any aches of muscle cramps. I think that due to you having muscle cramps you need to do gentle activities like walking or swimming. I think activities like push ups are too hard for you right now. I am also trying to lose weight. Today I went to the Zumba dance class and the gym for a workout. Last October I bought a years membership at the sports Center. Now I am feeling more fit but it took me four months to build up to the exercise I am now doing. Zumba feels like a party so it is excellent. Good luck getting back to feeling well with no more muscle cramps. If you feel you need it try a deep heat cream perhaps.
