I believe that the bottom line of having a CCTV camera is for our safety. This reminds me of my visit in Macau where they just leave their stalls along the road with their vegetables and fruits overnight without even covering it well. With CCTV all aroun their street, nobody dares to steal and intimidate people even in the wee hours of the day. I just hope our government could also do that.

It is nice that the government are with the peoples will. The rich nation can accommodate that kind of technology. But in the nation is more corrupt officials, nothing will be happen. They corrupt, the people around them steal, the hungry theft, what happen to us.

Yes, macau government is really doing its best for their people. unlike here in our country that they take care of themselves first before their people. It is so sad From observation, the sincerity of their government in serving their people is also the reason why Chinese are so patriotic to their country.

I think CCTV is not for safety but it's for evidence in case something happen to you or someone or something that you care. But i think putting up a warning that your movement recorded by CCTV can help reduce the risk of something bad that could happen. For instance, i was in a shop several months ago and in the cashier desk there's a warning that your movement is recorded by CCTV, i think that warning can at least make people change their mind if they want to do something bad, but if there's no warning then they won't hesitate to do their criminal act.

Yes, they won't stop someone who is desprate, but it could change people's mind who's in 50/50 about weather they gonna rob the place or not.

i think it will help a lot. People knowing that they are being watched, acts more behaved and avoids doing something inappropriate under something which could be considered an evidence. In a country i've just visited to, even in buses they have cctv and every one obeys the rules the country have set.

Hiya asliah, CCTV Cameras I think have to be installed in most places where they are badly needed. We might not care much for them but on the other hand if someone is hurt and injured in the Robberies perhaps one of those souless People might give themselves away without knowing and they get detained and put away for good which is what I would hope for. One Spanish Woman was saying that she was almost ready to give up as they do nothing but rob her Shop and all she is trying to do is to make a living even though what she is making is quite measly. Even with the Cameras they have still not caught anyone. Wish they would make Cameras now that were much less obvious perhaps that would put the Robber more at ease? I am all for them yes I think that we cannot be without them although I am not keen on them at all really.xxx

No, I do not think it will lesson the amount of crimes. Remember, most thieves are stupid to begin with. What it will do is be able to identify the criminal. That is a good thing though. I se in the papers all the time, when one of these thugs beats an old lady in a building lobby and takes her bag. The camera always catches them.

CCTV Surveillance Systems are good, but you could rather go for motion sensing cameras. It has a feature of detecting movements and capturing images. Some cameras can send information to the nearby police station when unexpected movements recorded. Reference:

Met de Spot Camera Recorder met Bewegingsdetectie zet je indringers of rondsluipers letterlijk in de spotlights, terwijl er een foto of filmpje van ze gemaakt wordt!

At least you are informed and can get ready to take action. When you are sure someone is trying to enter your house you can either call a police or your neighbours.

Hello asliah, I think it's still the best medium in detecting criminal activities. though there can be witnesses to these events, you never know if they can testify nor if the witness is real, some can be paid or fake. that's why CCTV's are viral to our safety. I have watch news of these criminal events that involves looking at the CCTV. with out it, they would have been a good help against criminals.

CCTV camera does not and cannot guarantee our safety. CCTV camera is not connected with the police right? This technology will just help to monitor who is the culprit and how hey did the crime. One's safety can be assured if there is a security guard or a police within the vicinity.

hello asliah, actually for me,i don't think that CCTV camera's are useful to us because many people are been killed and etc...,and one thing, the suspect of that case has never known, and if the technology have in a good quality and clear in any records possible the crimininals in our country are easy to know the suspect.

CCTV camera is good for collecting evidence, but not all have seen in camera are now in the hands of laws. This time of crisis, they want to fill his stomach, and do what they want. If the government want to install this kind of technology, first they must install more jobs, so that man will not be hungry. More jobs, less hungry. No jobs, more crimes, hungry that even your camera installed will be taken.

it is good to have a CCTV camera but it has no use if no one will watch on it 24/7. yes, it can record on what happened however the response of the people will be slow. and also, if the robbers are good, they will try to destroy the CCTV anyway and try to destroy also the monitors and disks.

Of Course having a CCTV with not make you safe. It's just there for a sense of security and as a deturant for some criminals . But if someone wants to commit a Crime They Will..END of Story
