Do you know "peas soup"?!

I used to love the pea soup my mother used to make but she used to put bacon in it and I don't eat meat these days , not sure how it would taste without it and I have never heard of pea soup with egg in it, sounds interesting.

I remember that my dad and mom and I (and in earlier trips my sisters too) would go to a place called Pea Soup Andersens in California. http://www.peasoupandersens.net/ They served a Pea Soup which had bacon in it and apparently also had a veggie variety. I used to like their breads with the pea soup. My father used to make pea soup... He though would use a ham bone and then would add the dried peas, etc. and cook it. The smell of that soup would fill the house. I remember both the trips to various parts of California stopping at that place and also after Christmas having my father make the pea soup. Thanks for bringing the old memories back... My father passed in 1984 and my mother in 1990. I have had canned pea soup and have eaten pea soup from Soup Plantation and they have been good but my dad's, to me will always be the best... I must admit, I am still wondering... Eggs with peas? I am glad that it was good and that you enjoyed it.

Yes, I love pea soup! I usually add a little bit of carrot and onion to it, but that isn't necessary. I've never had it with boiled egg, but that sounds good. A bit of sour cream or plain yogurt or a few shavings of hard cheese is good with it. Now I want to make some!

I eat pea soup once in a while in Winter but I much prefer lentil soup and bean soup. I have never made it with chunks of boiled egg but I do use a mashed hard boiled egg sometimes with lentils.

Eating hot soups really ease the coldness when the weather is cold.I do eat soups too but peas soup is quite new to me and haven't try it.Sounds delicious based on what you said,I guess I should try it in the near future.
