Once again my mobile is lost when my elder MIL died. I was put my mobile in there house but after some hours when I check mobile was not there. I call on my mobile then this was switched off. My mobile was new and I cant understand how lost. Lots of people are incoming and going there. I not said to anyone. I want to make duplicate sim because sim is important but lots of problem are facing they said brings FIR and police are saying brings Affidavit. I feel irritated my mobile my sim I am providing my document but Company officer member not read to make duplicate sim without FIR. Do you face this situation any time share your view.

Hello Surekha, very sad to know that you lost you mobile again. You must be take care about it. it is my suggestion when ever you lost your mobile you must be file a FIR with police. It is for your safety. If some one use used your mobile for unfair means you have evidence that yours mobile was lost.

Yes in my place also hard to make duplicate sim they need document but if we are submitting own document and present personally in main office then they make the sim without FIR. I think this is your second mobile you lost because last time I read discussion my mobile is lost and your mobile is lost in train. Am I right? Take care mobile is not less costly.

In my country, it is very easy to make a duplicate sim. I just need to bring ktp, to create a duplicate sim.

I doubt that you can duplicate your sim card. They are all different. And besides, the one in the phone that you lost has all your information on it. I don't even think that the phone company can do anything for you except send you a new sim card. Next time be very careful about the cell phone.

inertia - yes. if the contact numbers are stored in sim card or phone they will be lost. it is better to have a hard copy list of phone numbers.

Yes it is a good idea to have them write down somewhere. Also it is a good idea to always keep track of your phone. Never place it down anywhere and walk away. Always have it on you at all times.

i had faced the same problem in the past, the problem you are facing i believe is mainly because you have told the company office that the mobile and sim have been stolen, instead just say to them that you only lost the SIM and dont say that your sim was stolen. FIR is only required if your SIM is stolen. By just saying that your SIM was lost they will make you a new SIM with the same number.(they make take some charges) Hope this helps :)

Dear friend, One of my friend had faced some what same situtation as this. In that he was concerned about the data stored in the phone. He too went to police station and had FIR. The also asked to produce the ID code of the phone. After providing all these to the constable also asked for Rs.500 as bribe. Even after two years he had not got his phone. But he has blocked the sim contacting the concern sim providers. He got a new sim but not the phone.

I haven´t had such problem, when my phone was stolen, I just went to the company, with my documents and ID, and they gave another sim card with no problem, after a few minutes, the same when it fell and broken. I don´t know, what is FIR?

It is really embarrassed to have a duplicate sim here too. hence, i never try for a duplicate one rather a new one, so that i have not to suffer a lot with those formalities. have a nice time.

I've never tried to have a duplicate SIM card made, but I don't think that it would be something that would be really easy to have done. The reason that I don't think that it would be easy is because of the fact that it takes a SIM card to make a phone operate. Thus, if you have two copies of your SIM card, you could technically have two different phones operating with the same phone number at the same time.

I never lost my mobile so far. But from some of my friends experience, it is not a tedious job. As long as you lodged the complaint, the police would proceed with their formalities only. At any cost, if they could able to trace the theif, you will get the mobile back. Also, in the case of getting a duplicate sim card, I think your service provider will give the details for what and how to go ahead with it.

No thanks police not take any action because loosing mobile cases are more. The prepare only FIR for making duplicate sim. Police cant caught yes Adnan murderers. Then how can catch the mobile stoler.

surekha: I have not faced this problem so far. If they trouble more then go in for new number and always we can get your number from your website. do not worry. Lodging FIR should not be a problem. But please go along with another male member to police station and lodge complaint or send it through your people.

Yes you are right uncle to go police station with male member is necessary because I afraid from seeing them. But now I will try to make sim without FIR give 200rs. to a person for making sim without FIR. Because police demand affadavit and for affadavit 100rs. charged so I choose other option.

surekha: that is fine. if a person can help you for this then go ahead. it is better not to go to police station unless it is very much required.
