hello,i would like to know how much is considered to be a good salary in indonesia, and how much 1 indonesian money is to 1 dollar

1 dollar roughly equal to Rp 8500 - Rp 9000, for the future our goverment planning on removing three zero from behind for efficiency, but it still a plan and won't be applied for a long time. I don't know about good salary because maybe company have different standard for local and foreigner. Standard (but i don't consider it as good salary because i want more

Yes, I believe that would be around $500/month. May seem very low for living standard in other countries; but you can live comfortably in Indonesia with that. Especially if you consider many local workers there only make below Rp 1.000.000 a month and yet have to feed a family of 5 or more. But then again, there are some of those insanely rich Indonesian who would easily blow Rp 5.000.000 in a day. Such a contrast.
dropping some zeros sounds like a great idea

If it is salary, I think it's depend on where u live. If you are living in the big city like Jakarta, 3 million salary won't be enough even you are single. But if it is in Medan city, 3 million is considered good salary for single person. Lets we take an example like America, your living cost is bigger if you are living in the New York city rather than you are living in Illinois city.
For the currency today, US $1 is 9180 rupiah. If work in other country and earn dollar and spend it in Indonesia, you will be the rich one..

Hi VRamone!.
Today $1 equal with 9,225 rupiah. I think one month salary consider good or not depend you are single or married with kid. 3 million rupiah consider good if you single but its won't be enough if you had child. So I personally think good salary start from 5 million a month.
Its my personal judgement, salary here are lower if you compare with USA but the living cost also lower you still had lunch for a dollar or two.
