Ever since internet was introduced to the world, a lot of online games for free or video games were offered to all who would like to play them. Unfortunately, some people specially students becomes addicted to them, so much so that some would skip classes and play them on internet cafes. A nephew of ours was even kicked out from a prestigious school, because he wasn’t attending classes but was always in the internet café playing DOTA! Thus, his parents decided that he be just enrolled in the province so they could monitor his activites. Now, he is doing fine in school. I saw our daughter one time playing it in her laptop, during her school vacation and I cautioned her about it. But she said, she only plays them when she really has nothing more to do specially on vacations only. I am glad she knows how to handle herself on that. And I know that her studies is her priority.

yes playing games is funny and in amny cases cause addicton especially to younger users anway i think that if videogames become an hobby cna be ok but someone will live just to play on videogams so naturally it needs to limit this activity anyway i think games are fun!!

Yes, those games can really be fun indeed. But as long as you know how to control yourself in the frequency of playing it, there's really no harm.

I know what you mean, the internet and some of the sites you find could be addicting especially for children, which tend to be the most vulnerable. Luckily, my kids are still to young so I haven't had the experience with them yet, but my son is turning 7 soon and in a few years I know I will go through it, but I hope he understands that this is only when they have spare time and all their school work is done.

Actually fabs, at an early age we can already teach our children the pros and cons of playing online or video games. And it would be nice if we give them restrictions as to when they can play it. Usually, we can let them play if they are already done with their homeworks and studies.

When I was in college, I was also very addicted to the game, and made me a frequent truant. I was late out of college. I really regret it. Now my son also likes to play games, but I allow my child to play the game, when the school holidays only.

I guess we all learn from our mistakes. That's why we are always on the lookout that our children will not commit the same mistake. Yes, we should regulate their playing of those video games.

Online games can help people relax themselves. But if people are addicted to them, the games do great harm to them. some people stayed at the internet cafe all night, playing the games, which harmed their health. What's worse, some students who are addicted to games have to drop out because of their low grades

Internet, it's a gift and a curse! Yes I know how some friends who play loads of Battlefield 3 on their laptops all day....I too play them but not as hardcore as they're! I mean we play games to casually have fun not to compete brutally for non-stop hours.

So i guess it's those games that requires competition that makes one an addict for it. Because once they lost over their opponent, they would surely ask for another and another and another in order to prove that he can beat the opponent also.

Both is interesting, depends. some people are like play online and some people video game or computer game. I play all of the games whether play solo or multiplayer. It is more interesting if play among friends. We all go for cybercafe and make a team fight, in some games like, counter strike, car racing even football. I don't like use cheat code, which is cannot test my strengthen actually. I just wanna say that it is just a part of life and not every time should play it. As you mention study is priority. Don't feel in future, feel it now.

I guess, what nephew got hooked into is the DOTA played with other players such as his two classmates that are equally kicked out too for the same reason. It's really terrible, when a thing like this would control and ruin you. It should be that you know always what is your priority.

That is why, the parents should really be strict when it comes to the studies of their children. It should be that they will be allowed to do the internet, once they are finished with their homeworks.
