Someone on My Lot, that has been doing it for quite some time, started a discussion about posting and earning on My Lot and it told me something I didn't know before. They said that you have to post comments on the responses that you receive on your discussions. So, I have been posting comments on the responses more now, maybe it will help. What do you say? Is it right? Should a person comment more to earn more? Your thoughts, my lot, friends!

It makes sense because myLot is a discussion site. If youpost a topic and it receives responses it is a questionwith some answers. It only becomes a discussion when you comment on those responses and further the topic. As myLot pays us to discuss it is obvious that we willearn for discussing. As you can see in the comment that I posted above, they even explain it in the FAQs under the question 'What can I do to increase my earnings?' http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14 On the same page they also tell us: "If you earned nothing, then you didn’t post anything" which means that you will NOT earn for what others post. YOU will earn nothing for the responses that others post but you WILL earn for commenting. As the first responder said: I type, I earn YOU type, YOU earn!

Hi Cherish I am always pleased when others read the tips and advice that I post. I am never sure whether only the user who started the topic will be the only one to read them. Thank you for stopping by and I am always happy to share!

I understand that when we begin a discussion sometimes we want to comment on a response; however, it isn't necessary. The following statement is found in the Mylot discussion guidelines: Don't thank everyone that responds or comments on your discussion.

That statement is indeed found in the Guidelines but there is a reason for it. If we just say 'thank you' with nothing else then we are not furthering the topic and there will ne no further discussion. Just like in a converstion offline, when you say 'thank you' the conversation ends. In the FAQs we are told: "Use myLot, post discussions, respond to discussions, comment on discussions, or perform searches. Post quality content. For example, generate discussions that engage other users and provide insightful responses and comments to other users discussions to further the topic" http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14

The comment should be pertinent and relevant tothe topic. If it is short and concise but relevant it willbe worth more than a comment that just rambles on and on, going round in circles withour furthering the topic. A tip: text/chat language is not English ('u' instead of 'you' for example) and will not earn because we are told to write in English. It is not picked up by search engines. Our discussions are available on all of the searches if we post in English.

should the comment be lengthier as in, you might ask for some tip and a fellow responder posts it. So all u can see it is appreciate you response and thanks for your times. But the length of the comment is less. So the small comment is also considered? or we need not put any comment n just leave it as it is?

That is only one discussion in a mass of money that have been done on the topic of earning. New users don't grasp it and get irritated and leave, or get irritated and post about it. One particular user who has been here not as long as the one you refer to, but a long time as well, has said "you type you earn, I type I earn" and that is the easiest way to remember it and understand it.

It might well have been the one that has not been here as long as the other one that this user was referring to

i was also told about this before. it really is better to further the discussion because the more you write the more you earn. i don't right that much discussion, i find it better to just keep posting comments and responses, but i still hope it is a better choice though.

If your comments and responses are pertinent and relevant to the topic then they will earn for you just the same as starting your own topics. If youget a back and forth exchange going then that is a discussion within a discussion and willearn for you too. The important thing is to be active. I rarely start my own discussion because then I have to spend a lot of time commenting and I miss out on the other new topics that are being posted. I much prefer responding and commenting elsewhere and doing that earns just as well too

Cherish, as you have been told before by Mysdianait, you would have to post comments that are relevant to what is being discussed as that only will earn for you, unlike irrelevant comments and responses they just fill up space but earn you nothing.

ya it for sure... you should need to post more comments in order to earn more.. but main thing is the comment whatever you posting should be useful one and also should be a valid one.. so try to post some good information and try to get or earn more cents from my lot

I don't know earning-wise but I think it's a good idea to comment on your discussions that you start. That just makes sense and keeps the conversation/discussion flowing. Me myself, I am SUPER bad at doing this. I always forget and/or never have time to come back to them. . Happy MyLotting! Good luck to you!

Yes, your right. Just keep yourself busy here. You will not earned from other member's comments/responses. Just be sure to post quality comment/response to a discussion. Our activity here counts.

Dear friend, this has always been one that was recommended to me by all users MYlotters, with which I had to do. When you write your own argument, if it is commented it is good time to respond to your every comment, this means not only an act of courtesy, you also have other feedback statement. And you can even see yourself!

Well, myLot does not give away their specific algorithm for how our earnings are calculated. But, common sense says... the more you type, the more you'll earn. Of course, what you type must be well written and follow the guidelines too. Also, myLot pays us for discussing. Therefore, by commenting back to responses you receive in your discussions, you are discussing(furthering the topic)... and are surely to be compensated for that.

I've heard that too and have been doing that and answering others posts as well, or discussions rather, unless I become too busy and can't get to anything. I like the thing about "you type, you earn, I type, I earn". That explains everything to a T.

The way I understand it is that you get paid for responding to other discussions. Posting comments on all issue in questions and of course what would interest you

I'm new here at My Lot and the reason I'm here is that I read from somewhere that you can earn something here. That's always good news. I always like going through forums cause you will learn a lot from different discussions from all sorts of people around the world. I heard that you can do that here and earn at the same time. I was just looking at some article on how can your really earn and this discussion makes that a little bit clearer. You participate in discussions, contribute to the topic and you get paid for that. Hence you type, you earn. However if you don't participate and just continue lurking around discussions, you don't get paid. You do nothing, you get nothing. Thanks for the info guys.
