My Laptop Sleeps With Me

Everywhere I go, I bring with me my laptop especially in the school and whenever there are reporting to do. At home, same situation because I can browse the internet everywhere in the house. When it is bed time, my laptop is beside me together with my cellphone. I think it is quite addicting. I leave my laptop on while I am asleep. Is it okay? Does it have negative effects if I continue sleeping with my laptop beside me? I don't worry if my laptop would be dropped because I put it in the safe side of the bed. What I am worrying about is the radiation I get from these gadgets. What do you think my friends?

Hello! I think its safe. Maybe you could get a table beside you so that it would be more comfortable for you and your laptop. By this also you will refrain from heated(because of exhaust fan) bed sheets.

Oh, good to hear that! Now you already have a mini-office right beside your bed! Just in case you wake up in the middle of the night, your laptop is just inches away from you!

Thank you my friend. This little table helps me a lot. I can transfer it in the tv room whenever I want to use my laptop in our sala. It is really like a mini office. Sometimes I just squat on the floor because the table is just small.

Oh, thanks God if its safe. Then I will be stop worrying about it. Anyway, I don't sleep beside it starting last week before I have allocated a small table for me to place it together with my cellphone.

I don't have a laptop. We have installed a desktop in the room where my sister sleeps. As she goes to bed early at night,I can't switch my desktop on lest she can't sleep. She has high blood pressure. So it is necessary for her to have an undisturbed sleep at night. I don't know whether keeping computer on for the whole night would have any negative effect on your laptop. But yes,you are likely to be effected by radiation.

I also have a desktop computer in my room. I only seldom use it since I have with me my laptop. Anyway, just try to understand your sister. Why don't you transfer that desktop computer in an area wherein you will not disturb your sister? Just try to explain nicely to her. I know she will understand. For me not to be get affected by the radiation, I am already not doing it my friend. I have to control myself. Thanks!

It's a lot of wasted electricity. You or your family could probably use the money saved on electricity for other things. Not sure why you would want it on overnight anyway. If I did that, when I woke up the next day, I'd have a virus, worm, something wrong with my computer. I leave it idle at all and my protection runs a scan and tells me like 10 things tried to attack it while it was idle for 10 minutes.

I don't plug the charger while I have with me my laptop over the night my friend. I know that it will cause huge electricity bills. I just leave my laptop until it will shut down. Just like that.

If u are worried about radiation, then switch it off and put it somewhere far away from u If u are really addicted to having your laptop wherever u go, whatever advice u see here doesn't help at all, since your laptop would be sticking to u again.. lol Try to have some self control over your reliance on laptop, internet. Technology doesn't last forever and over reliance on it, will make u forget how to socialize in the proper manner in the near future. Do think about that

I think I've read something about this either in one of the discussions or an article. I'm not really sure though, but if I remember right, there is really no threat of radiation if you sleep beside your laptop. The more immediate concern here is the chances of your laptop getting damaged if it falls off your bed or you accidentally kick it if you're turning in your sleep. But I suggest you wean yourself out of this habit. Or at least put a small table beside your bed where you could put your laptop when you're about to sleep. Beds are after all are for sleeping

You are right beam! Yeah, I have this small table beside my bed where the lamp is. Sometimes I feel lazy to put it there because of the sleepiness that it turned out I would sleeping beside it. Don't worry. I will make sure to place things first to safe place before I sleep.

Thank you my friend for the concern. Yes, it is true. It would be in the news and there will be victims of it already. Not yet. But I don't want to wait for it to happen. It is better to be secure than regretting in the end. Happy day!
