Ants, they are nasty creatures, especially when they invade your property, right? Did you know that ants hate cucumber peels and especially cinnamon? Sprinkle some dollar store bought cinnamon (ground up) around and you'll see them gone! Just thought you might need that little tidbit of info sometime, as they can become rampant at times.

Great tip to fight ants. I have cinnamon powder in my kitchen. I'll try it later if it really works. Furthermore, I also read here in mylot that artificial sweeteners can be also used to kill ants. According to the one who posted it, these sweeteners are initially used to kill ants and not to replace sugars. I don't know it this information is true.

I don't know about Truvia. I haven't tried to use artificial sweetener in killng ants. I don't have in my kitchen. I'll try to use cinnamon first since it is the one available in our house. Thanks for the great information about this thing.

Yes, do try it, and let me now. I did hear recently of those artifical sweeteners being useful for ridding of ants too. I have none of that in the house at the moment as I use Truvia instead of Aspartame.

Truvia is a natural sweetener, nothing like Asparatame as it is from a plant. I don't thin I'd use that for ants, for one thing is can be expensive. I try to buy it on sale with a coupon only. It lasts me for a long time as I only use it sparingly. You're welcome on the info, anything to help some people.

This is what I like most with mylot members, the sharing of information and tips which are readily available in every home. A member shared also that artificial sweeteners are also ants deterrent. I guess cinnamon is more cheaper than aspartame. Thanks for the info my friend.

Yes asparatame and cinnamon are both great for deterring them away. I bet there are other items as well. I try to put some coffee grinds around the gardens here at times and that also helps.

Yea, I like hearing about them too, and thought I would share one I had known about for awhile. I've never used it yet personally but have heard from those that did and they swear by it that it will work.

Does that really work?! I've never heard of such a thing! Well I will have to try it! We've never really had an infestation kind of thing at my home, but occasionally I will see a black ant here or there. They bother me! Ugh! So does the cinnamin KILL them or does it just repel them? Just curious...lol.

It won't kill them but I think it repells them as far as I remember being told about it.

I used to have an ant problem.I did online research, I remeber it says cinnamin works.I didn't try it though.I ended up buying ant traps and that eventually got rid of them.

I have tried ant traps too long ago and they did seem to work, this was when we had them in the house briefly. Whatever works best for you, but this was another suggestion.
