Hello mylotters... I read somewhere that stress creeps up in us like a thief in the night. Scary if one is not aware that the everyday stress that one experiences is slowly but surely eating our system up. Now I listen to my body if all the stress that I have been going through these last few days is starting to creep up in me. How do we detect the signals? Looks like am getting paranoid. LOL

that is so true... sometimes, i get to wake up feeling sad and depressed. sometimes, it's not all emotional, it transforms into physical like, a hurting arm or back and all the reason behind was simply stress... it's very important that you know how to understand your own body so when you feel the signals that shows up, you know how to deal with it properly before it gets out of control

Mine is ulcers. I keep my medication always with me. And keeping my cool when able. I agree with you that we also need to understand our own body so I listen. I just hope I would know the signal and take heed. Thanks for your response, jd...

Actually I don't really know. I usually don't have a lot of stress and then suddenly when I'm in bed I realise the gravity of my situation and I start to freak out (or that happened in the past anyway, I'm not in a stressful situation right now). Luckily it never takes me long to calm down again. I think the best thing you can do is live relatively healthy and keep exercising, because that's always good, including as a stress reliever.

Lucky you having not much stress and knowing how to cope when stress come. I would love to exercise but what I do is just breath in and out and think things through. Knowing the stress sometimes eases it out. But I do have someone who is so demanding and endangering my work as well she keeps my heart pumping with resentment. But she is a relative and I love her so I have to keep my cool. Sigh! But this will pass I know. I will just have to talk with her when the right time comes. Thanks for your response and have a nice day ahead Cranos.

Stress is all around us every time. What count is how to deal with it. one should learn to choose to be happy when faced with stress. Someone gets rid of stress by listening to music, getting together with their friends, chatting with them, or just wandering in the street. When i have some stress, i set it aside first in order not to affect my good mood and then i try to think of a way to do it.

Oh yes, i have read about that too. So, i keep on telling my husband about it, because he's a workaholic. He goes to his job as team leader, 7 days a week. Sometimes, on Sundays, we would go to church so early because his staff is on day off and he will take over. Hence, his weight has dropped and i know it's because of too much stress at work. So, i would compensate it at night by giving him his favorite healthy foods, and bond with him by watching TV and sharing stories. That way, he is de-stressed.

That stress is part of our daily life, this is a fact. We, more or less, for various problems, we're all a little stressed. The fact that this stress, some people like yourself could arise during the night, I had never heard. However such a thing would not surprise me at all, maybe just the fact that it happens at night sometimes we find it hard to fall asleep because we think our problems to solve day to day. This in my opinion, is one of the causes that lead us also to make some bad dreams. Do not count you as a paranoid because of this, you're not the only person to have this kind of problem, especially inherently stress.

Stress is a killer. And I mean literally. It can kill you. I am a severe insomniac and some of it is due to stress. But there are so many other symptoms due to stress such as stomach problems, headaches, coughing, heartburn, digestive problems, etc etc etc. Almost anything a person develops might be stress related. Not always but can be. I suggest that you first stop worrying so much about stress. It will make you worse. Relax. Learn about stress and how it can affect you both mentally as well as physically. Learn how to cope with and manage stress. You can do online searches or talk to your health care providers. Meditation is a good way to deal with stress. So is massage. Walking and running are other ways. All sports can help deal with stress. The best way to deal with is is to take life easy. Don't get stressed. But if you do, there are ways to cope with it and manage it.

Maturity is often needed to become aware of small changes impacting one's body. One we learn to give our attention to this we can overcome a great deal of grief caused by everyday stress. Yoga is a great way to release this as is meditation. Learning to laugh at one's self is also a help.
