Sixth Sense

Call it sixth sense, clairvoyance or any other derivative of para-psychological mumbo jumbo, there are indeed people who have the ability to discern the unknown and communicate with them. Everyone may not be invested with this faculty and this does mean that it does not exist. In the absence of hard evidence many pooh-pooh the claims of seers. I, for sure, believe in the existence of this faculty which is difficult to be explained by science. What about you dear fellow mylotians, please?

Hi gurujee, There are many people who believe in the existence of such faculties. From ancient times, there have been records of such powers in people, and in those times, dishonesty and treachery were not quite as common as now. They had no reason to fake it, or make some devious scheme to get money. Even now there are those who have such abilities but do not dare to speak of it to the public because of the fear of being ridiculed or laughed at. In fact, there are those who say that anyone can attain Seeing abilities, with proper practice and training. But not many care much about such things when they are busy running around making money, overcoming competition and somehow struggling to survive.

Materialism is responsible for removing the sheen of spiritualism.

I believe in the sixth sense. We don't have any scientific proof of its existence, but we can prove it exists if we watch the behavior ants, birds and different animals show before an imminent natural event. When an earthquake is about to take place, the animals leave the place. Ants begin preparing for rainy days from summer. How do they know what is going to happen? They know it with the help of their sixth sense. We have lost our sixth sense, because we are not in touch with the nature.

Oh really, have we lost it? Some years ago I was walking past multi-storey building when I suddenly felt like something was going to happen and it did, someone threw a jar from 5th storey aiming at me while I, knowing it was going to happen, just walked passed the place where it was going to fall. And I wasn't even looking I just sensed it.

One may call it gut reaction but still it is beyond the bounds of science. Thank God, it came in handy at the right moment to save you from what seemed to be imminent.

I believe in 6th sense too. And as what our fellow mylotters posted, I am convinced that it existed in us. It just happens to us rarely, or maybe lacks practice to enhance potential abilities.

It is a pity that we are not able to have a thorough understanding of this phenomenon.

Yes, we have chances but opportunities are limited to those that favor them. However, we can also have this chance to improve our senses through self-study, and learning through internet. But I think that would take real hard time, as self-learning is tough and a lazy thing to do.

There are some who claims that they have this "sixth sense". I have other means of discovering the truth, and that is following my guts. It has always been my proven way of knowing whether if it is bullsh!t or not. I don't believe in the sixth sense but the idea amuses me. The movie is very entertaining that movie makers can actually create another plot based on this sixth sense, but with a different approach. It can be another million dollar blockbuster for them.

Are they not the same?

I don't think so. Following your guts is more realistic than "sixth sense".

I believe there are people with heighten abilities which we may call as sixth sense. Isn't there a study or science on this? Parapsychology, right?

There are indeed efforts to understand it better. But there are many who take everything with a pinch of salt.

Six sense to me are true in my beliefs, whereby one open his third eye to see this kind of stuff in his own vision. I however , don't really practice such things, why should i see ghost when i'm totally gifted not to see one, unless hallucinations. :)

There are some people with the genuine ability but it is the few people who do not have the ability but want to make money that gives it a bad name, I have been to many spiritual readers most very good and some fakes, I was a non-believer until things said to me were just unexplainable, I am now a firm believer.

This power does exist and it is those who don't have it give it a bad name pretending to be in possession of it.

There is a big difference between sixt sense, the third eye or for example communication with the unknown. To my opinion everybody has the sixt sense already at birth. The thing is we don't want it in our lives anymore, we go for common sense and children are raised like that by society, schools, etc.

Seems that everyone is born with this extra sensory perception which is lost as one grows up.

i've known a person who's third eye is active. every time she sees this elements she shared it to us. and me, myself also experienced the same. i believe that all of us have that third eye its just that we don't know how to use it or we just don't want that in our lives cause it scares us.

How nice it would be if we make use of this latent faculty!

I agree with you, I get 'feelings' about things at times. It isn't something that you can turn on and off at will. Sometimes I get the intuition about silly things and other times it can be about quite major things. I don't know where it comes from, but over the years I have learned to listen to it.

Yes, it is quite inexplicable. Happy to know that you are in possession of this rare faculty.
