I have to! Not that I want to! I'm taking a science, two English classes and three education classes. I don't have a part time job though, so I'm hoping I'll be fine. How many credits do you usually take per semester? Do you think I cann handle this amount of credits? What's the largest number of credits or classes you've taken in one semester?

My school still does quarters, they are starting semesters this fall, but this quarter I am taking 12, and that is way enough for me. I heard where this one guy took 15, but I don't know if that was quarter or semester, but that sounds like a lot of work if you ask me..

IF I am not mistaken, the largest I have had was around 32 and I had 21 and more. It wasn't easy but I think I passed most of it if not all. During the freshman year, I think that's the common number of units needed to be taken in the engineering department.

I'm amazed you handled so much! I don't think I could! Not in half a year!

That's our educational system here. I have foreign friends who are actually surprised as well when they found out about this. I have heard that in their country, Turkey they had no minors or just very few. Now I'm beginning to wonder what it's really like to study abroad.

I wouldn't want to take that many units. Figure at least 3 hours studying for each unit and you have 19 X 3 = 57 hours studying plus 19 hours in class = 76. It's doable but you won't have any free time. If you have a hard class you will have to cut into sleep time.

Wow..that would be way too much for me. I am doubling up right now for a couple of weeks and it has been kicking the toshie pretty good. I haven't even had a chance to come and see my friends here in a few days! If I wasn't working, I might be able to swing that but it is going to keep you on your toes. Take care and good luck!

Wow. That sounds amazing! Good for you! I know you don't want to take that many, but I'm sure you will get used to the workload. I've only ever been to college for 2 semesters (then I sort of dropped out), but the first semester I took 16 and the second I took 18. I was only working part-time at the time though so it was pretty easy to make sure I got all the work done. I just got sick of going to classes 5 days a week. But the classes we generally easy, so I didn't have a hard time and got OK grades. Good luck to you!

Hi Stephanie Ann C: I remember when I was in my university. I used to take as many credits as I could because I don't have to work so it was just me and my only responsibility was studying. I sometimes feel that I take too much but I had good results. ALVARO

My sister took 21 credits a couple semesters so she could graduate in three years instead of four years. She also was involved in the college choir at the same time. However my sister is an overachiever and I would never want to take that many. The most I ever took a semester was sixteen hours. I did have a part time job, but even if I didn't, I still wouldn't have taken more than sixteen. I wish you luck!

It's been years since I've taken classes. I think the most I've taken was 16, depending on whether it was a semester school or quarter school. I think you can do it, since you don't have any other distractions. If you budget your time right, you can even make the Dean's List.

Hi step, I know 19 credits are too much to take but I think you can do it,just be focus on your study. I used to have 26 credits before when I was working and the same time studying physically and online. I had like 8 credits attending physically and 26 credits online which gave me too much headache. Just like you too, I have to and not that I want too. It was really terrible because I barely get sleep and I work as a supervisor and at my age I have too many responsibilities to do, responsibilities at work and for my self and guess what? I ended up quitting that 26credits I had. It was too much to work plus I need extra brain for it for taking that paralegal studies
