My boss doesn't want me standing up from the chair !

My job is online. So, I usually sit on the chair 7 or 7.5 hours per day. I feel tired. So in recent times, I often go around company to do other things. I like a little exercise. I only go around for work, of course. Example: I give goods for workers, distributing rice tickets for all staffs, attendance etc...However, my boss doesn't like this. He wants me sit down on the chair, in front of computer even I don't have anythings to do! He wants me collecting all things to go around company only one time! I think that 10 or 15 minutes a day for going around is not problem. Do you think so?

Your boss is quite harsh. You have to take a walk once in a while in order for the blood to circulate properly. Besides, it's quite tiring to sit on a chair for straight 7 hours.

Yes, I beginning to pain back, neck and arm. I must do exercise everyday, if not, I can't sit to work more. It's dangerous for health!

its easy always complain that your back is paining and you need to go to visit doctor or something and then he would not stop you Tell your boss upfront that you would have problems if you sit continuously in one place (and frankly you would) and if he don't listen then start take breaks a lot.

Your boss needs to know that every person needs to get up once in a while just to keep the blood flowing normally. He's not the one who will get sick when you sit for 7.5 hours straight that's why he doesn't care. I suggest for you to research the health hazards of sitting too long and show them to your boss. Good luck.

A good idea, my friend. I'll do that :) I hope that he'll understand the issue.

I couldn't imagine having a job like that. I've gotta be on the move LOL, or at the very least be able to move every now and then. As it is, I almost never sit down at my current job. I think the last time I did was a few months ago. And that was only for a minute or 2! Maybe you could explain to your boss that you'd benefit from a stretching out period every few hours or so. After all, it's not healthy to sit in a chair that long and not get a break from it. Good luck!

It's difficult to explain to him. I tried to say but he didn't care. I feel bored working here. Maybe I'll resign soon :D

Your boss is a fool, and you can tell him that from me. If you're sitting there glued to your computer for hours at a time, you're going to develop back trouble, eye strain and maybe circulation problems. How will that affect your work? If you're able to get up, stretch and move away from your computer for short periods a few times a day, it will cut down on health and safety hazards and also sharpen up your mind a bit so you can work better. In my last job we were actually required to spend a few minutes away from our computers every couple of hours - if I'm ever employing people, I'll have the same rule. A good business starts with a decent health and safety culture.

I think that your boss needs to realize that you need to be allowed to get up and move around for your own health reasons as well. It's not safe for you to be in the chair all day as you need to be allowed freedom to move around and stretch muscles as well.

I think getting up and getting some exercise would be good for you and make you feel more like working. It is said from almost everyone that you should not sit in front of a computer for hours on end. It would be different if you were gone for hours on end. Everyone needs a little break! I hope your boss has a change of heart.

It's difficult to tell her. I'm looking for the best way to tell him. Thank you for your sharing.
