Buying clothes when you are trying to lose weight...

Is this a smart idea? I am just starting (about a week ago) to try to lose the "winter weight" I have put on and hopefully some more after that... So far I have lost six pounds. . It seems small but it's good for me, as usually I stick to a diet for about a day and then give up. I constantly go clothes shopping though. My eventual goal is to drop maybe 2 jean sizes. So I am wondering if I should continue to buy jeans at my current size? Or is there no point? Do you buy new clothes when you are in the process of attempting to lose weight?

It doesn’t make sense buying new clothes if you are losing weight because they will not fit you after a while. This is unless you are buying clothes with elasticity, like track suits. On the other hand since you go through the same process of adding weight during winter, you can still shop and wear the clothes soon after the winter is gone. The disadvantage of this is that the clothes may not be in fashion come next year same time.

i would shop at a thrift store if you needed new clothes that way you are not out a lo of money. i lost about 10 lbs over the winter and had bought a new pair of jeans only to find out about a month later they were too big. good thing there are belts!
