How would you feel if someone is publishing offensive videos about your country?

It's not new to me that somebody is creating videos of their travel as long as it is kept for personal purposes. But just recently somebody is making a video so offensive that it affects the moral of the country and published it through the internet. People already know and they lived with it, it's not a bad place after all, not like in some other countries where people are shooting at each other everyday. If their country is so great and they don't feel the way of living in some undeveloped nations, then they can suck it up, just stay there and don't go anywhere. Should you just be open-minded and enjoy the beauty you are trying to explore and keep the thought for yourself. Everybody wanted to see changes, whether it be good or bad, but sadly its beyond our control. We can only start the change in ourselves and hoping somebody else will follow. Let's just keep the faith and run the race.

I am not sure if you are talking/referring to the viral video done a certain ..... about our country. Oh well, he's just one of those jerk who is not worthy to be welcome again. Hope he's being dumped right now and deported back to the jungle where he belong.Yes, our country is not as good as the other, but the worst either. I can still leave my house door open wide during day and night without the worry of being robbed duh!!!! I can still walk at wee hours in our place and ride the public vehicles safely. He should be thankful- he was not kidnapped by the rebels :p

Yes! He can only state a few reason to be pissed but if he went somewhere he will have a million reason to get killed. I may hate our government but I love this place.

Hi ice, I'm not really not offended, the way he presented them, at least they opened the eyes of the people concerned and they should act accordingly. Exposing the bad side of things should spur one to a improve things as it should be.

Yes, I agree. We all wanted change, we all do. We are already aware that as much as they do,and we hated it knowing it's like an uncured disease, but it's inappropriate to throw it in the face. Isn't it?

Sorry, but I didn't see the thread. I just open my account recently, and decided to create one myself.

offended of course, but i would not waste time on just a person's opinions because other people's opinion of my country outweighs that of his negativity. i do not think that people nowadays are as stupid as the person who just wants to try to offend and make people bash him to confirm that the country is up to no good. if you try to do that, then i guess we would just satisfy this man's cravings for a minute of fame. lets just not give it to them. anyway, everyone has an opinion and beauty and experience is subjective. ;)

Very well said. Sometimes, people tend to compare how far their country has gone leaving biased opinions to some whom doesn't meet their desired expectations.

It can not make me happy, but i will not angry with that kind of things now. One thing in my eyes is quite good, but it may be a bad things in other people's eyes. Everyone loves their own country, but people from other countries may not think in the same way. I only check the facts in the videos. If the videos tell the truth, no matter how i feel, I will accept them. But if they do not contains any fact, they are totally rubbish, no need to angry with them.

That's the part that I don't really understand. I mean making a video is one thing, but making offensive videos doesn't completely makes any sense at all. What is the guy coming up to? A minute of fame maybe? Or maybe they just want to be called sensational.

While I may not like it because I love my country I am not going to try to stop it. All travel videos are biased to an extent, some just not as extreme as others. You can't stop people from feeling they way they feel. I think everyone should have the right to state their views. However if it is intentionally meant to cause massive violence for example the Osama Bin Laden tapes then I'm not too cool with that.

Well I wouldn't like if it was way off the reality but I wouldn't pay much attention. As they say "Haters gonna hate" ;)

Ask yourselves something first: "Is what was said on that video true or not?" If not, then of course you should be offended. Otherwise, if what was published on the video true, then that should serve as an eye-opener. And steps should be taken to correct the negative things that was said. I'll assume that this was about Jimmy Sieczka's video about reasons why he dislikes the Philippines. Lets face it, what he said on that video were all true, and I could add a few more things to his list. That video should be shown to every Filipino and should remind everyone of what's wrong with the country. By the way, I'm a Filipino and I'm proud to be one.
