I have this burden that has been occupying me for few days now. I have know a lady from my mother town who had stopped her schooling due to financial constraints. I am so concerned that I really have been praying hard to support her education. Unfortunately, I really am not yet that financially sufficient. A number of people entering into my mind whom I can ask for help but it is not easy to do so. I just really cannot start to discuss it with them. I am now in need of practical idea what will I do. My heart is really filled with pity for her and her family. Thanks for sharing some ideas.

Helping somebody is really a great idea. I know the difficulty because if you are not financially strong your dependents will surely ask to think about it. Make yourself clear that she is your responsibility or no. If so then you will have tough time to manage. If you have not promised her anything then how much is possible from you you can help her. If she is grown up and ready to do part time then it is her responsibility also to help herself. Even I have been facing from similar problem. But the people who are dependent on me can not survive without my help. I have a difficult situation too to continue. So I can understand your problem. If she is healthy and fit there is nothing wrong if she helps herself. Off course how much is possible from you you can do but also see to it that she should not take your advantage.

Thanks everyone for all of your ideas. Yes, I keep praying that God will gonna lead me to the right ways of helping. Checking if she can apply to be working student is also one option. And I have been trying approaching some whom I know are able to support but can be sure only when they confirm if they really can. Yeah, I don't know why do I seemed to be bothered of sending her to school. I am not related to her but I just really feel pity on her situation and besides, I, too, believe that poverty is definitely not a hindrance to finish school. Thanks again and God bless us all here in the world of MyLot.

This is really a sad case. If you yourself is not in a good position to help the lady, perhaps you can try talking to her. If she still wants to continue her education then you can continue thinking of ways to help her. The only way that i can think of is to go to a bank and try to apply for student loan. Good luck!

Ah, going to the bank never got into my mind because this will mean loans or debt. I do not like loans..hmmmm.. But maybe that is going to be a last option. Thanks

For now it is good that you can pray for her. I know you want to pay money for her, but praying to God to provide the finances will help. I believe in God and I know that He moves. You just need to have faith to believe and keep praying because God will make a way.

Its really heart warming to hear that there are still individuals that cares for a person who is need. I believe your intention is really good but if you cannot pursue it. maybe it will be good to tell it the family earlier so that they would not expect so much from you. after all you can do it in time that you are ready.

Why donĀ“t you tell the story of the young woman in a group meeting, asking them for ideas to help. You must show to them that she deserves it: poverty is not enough. She must have academic excellence up to when she stopped her schooling.

Welcome to Mylot Keshlois! I had been contemplating on this too. My family has a small farm and really needs maintenance. I have told my mom that i want to help manage the small farm and that i really am serious with it! Unfortunately, i do not have any farming skills. Thats why i have thought of sponsoring a kid to college but that kid would also serve as my caretaker on the small patch of land. In exchange for the scholarship, he should maintain a very small portion on the land. I want this land to be productive. Sponsoring a kid through college seems like a good way for me to help those in need... What do you think?
