A month ago,I tried to login my Yahoo Email but failed.I thought that I just forgot the password, besides I was a little busy at that time.So I didn't take it seriously, and do nothing to cope with this.Unfortunately, today, when I try to login again,I find my Email address has been shut down ,and every Email I got and sent was deleted by Yahoo. Some are quite important to me,including some pictures that my friend sent to me.Before this matter happended,I regarded the Email space as a very safe place where you can store some imformation that you want to keep a long time. And I know I am wrong now,but it's too late. So what's about you?Do you have such experience like me?Wish your sharings!

on yahoo i never experienced a thing like that probably they blocked your account and delete your mails because you were inactive for a period like 90 days in this case almost all mail provider will put your account as deleted but you can restore it if you log in and decide to re-start!!nOrmally i am doing this when i want that the mail account is cancelled!!

I had one Yahoo account which I never used for more than 60 days I think. When I relogged in, I needed to verify some important information because I was able to relog in. I lost all my messages same with what happened to her.

Awww, that's sad.I know if we're inactive for a long period, say two months or three months,we have to reactivate our email accounts. This applies for every mail provider,I think, just like tonyllenium said.Didn't know it will lose all the emails. Sorry for your loss, wittynet~

I learned a lesson from that, babyanna. I always check all my accounts once a week, sometimes everyday, to ensure that they're always active.

Hello, historydog! Based on my experience, it would be best to always log in to your Yahoo account, let's say once a week. That way, you can always refresh your account. Same thing happened to me, and I really regretted it because I never logged in to my account for I think more than 60 days. Like here in myLot, if you're not going to log in for more than three months, you'll lose your earnings, but of course all your posts are still here. So it's better to always log in to your account even if you're not going to post anything.

Yeah,I think that's what happened to my old Mylot account.Lost all my earnings and couldn't post.Have to get a new account.Really regretted it.Lost many contacts because of it. At least I learned my lesson now.I will make sure no matter how busy I am,I would log into Mylot even if I don't post.Just to make sure my account won't be cancelled again.

Don't worry. You have three months. Come to think of this. If you already log in, why not post at least one? That way, your time is not wasted.

Hi,historydog~ Haven't seen you for a long time. How are you doing, man? You know, apart from "your Yahoo Email being cancelled" part. Had that experience once with my SOHU email account.Didn't log in for more than three months and I had to reactivate it(well, what I was supposed to do). But I didn't have much on that account anyway,so I decided to just leave it deserted. Right now,I'm using my hotmail account and it is pretty good. Really sorry to hear that you lost those precious files. This always sucks. How long haven't you logged in there anyway?Maybe if not for a long time and it was other kind of problem, you can contact the Yahoo team and see what can be done. Anyway, hope you well and enjoy the spring time.

Hi,babyanna I was a little busy with my Graduate Record Examination last term. And I'm preparing my interview now.So I do have little time getting to the internet. My yahoo problem really upsetted me,but I have recovered now.I will never put anything into Email to store them there. It's my mistake to have my yahoo Email shutted down.I think I didn't log in for more than four months.I do deserve this result for what I have done. So what are you busy with resently?Best wishes to you.

Shutdown ? You mean you cannot sign in on your e mail even if you retrieve your password? Some people who are expert in computers can play pranks to others. I do not recall yahoo deleting e mails but I think they do ban some emails if you use it to do. Illegal stuff like spamming, bots in chatrooms. I am not an expert, just sharing some information. It is sad that you lost your email, hoppee you can retrieve it.

They warned me nothing before they shutted down my Email. But there are some things in their instruction. You can read that instruction to get some information. If you login your yahoo email account periodically, you won't get this problem.

hi there, i have also experienced this and it is also my Yahoo mail. but i just couldn't retrieve my password no matter how many times i have tried even my security questions i couldn't go through them. i was so pissed when this happened. i didn't know what happened if it got hacked or i just forgot my passwords. but i have had that email for years already. i just hope it didn't get hacked, i hope that yahoo will just shut it down and eventually cancel the account.

I have only come across this once, and that was due to lack of use on my email account. If you maintained use of your accounts regularly, I would contact Yahoo and see what options they have for you. Nothing is ever erased on the internet. There is always a way to get it back. For something that seems that important, I would definitely contact them for support. Good Luck!
