Well it is official, my twelve year old has given me the honor of the worst mom. Yesterday my husband took him to a new private school that he will be starting in the fall. He was fine with that, he can't stand the fact they have to wear uniforms. So last night he wants to go to the mall, I agree since he is feeling down. When we get there he wants me to buy him a $40.00 baseball hat. Sorry, no way am I spending that kind of money on a baseball hat. So that is when I received my crown as worst mom. He tells me that I am making him change schools, leaving all his friends and I won't even buy him a new baseball hat. What else am I going to do to him to ruin his life. Oh well, I guess we will all survive.

You are a not a bad mom he sounds like an upset kid who isnt going to get his way and he is sulking if he has nice clothes, a nice house and food what more does he want. There are a lot of children in this world that dont have that so he should be more greatful

He was upset last night. I think everything just went wrong for him all day. And then when he did not get his hat, he just got mad. This morning he was much better when I left, I asked if he was still mad with me and he wasn't.

It sounds like he just had a bad day, i bet he regretted it after it happened. Kids are like that but when he grows up he will look back and cringe.

I think we all get the title once in a while. If we didnt upset our kids from time to time we need to be doing more. I have earned the title a handfull of times and I know I earned it everytime. Who knew we could get so much joy and so much pain from someone so perfect. Great job Mom!

Yes I am sure I will get this title more than just this once. I am also sure that I gave it to both my mom and day. Like a freind was telling me over the weekend we are not here to be their best buddy. When we get these titles then actually we are doing something right. At least hopefully when they get older they will realize what we were trying to teach them.

oh i'm sorry your child feels that way, some kids just do not understand ( at some point in their life) sometimes what parents go through and the sacrifices we parents have to make just to give them the best as long as we could afford it and we know that it's really good for them.

I was trying to explain it to him that the school would be to his benefit not mine. If I didn't care I would just let him stay where he is at and keep doing bad with his classes. I tried to explain that the new school would be much better, the classes are smaller and he will get more help than he is now. I also told him how many hours I have to work to buy a $40.00 hat for him to wear a few times then be tires of it. He was much better this morning, I think he just had a day that everything went against him.
