I don't know in other country but here in the Philippines you can buy in the street a cellphone simcard and its worth only a dollar and sometimes even half a dollar. Usually those are sims that is near expiration that why its sold for bargain. And since its ha some free sms. My friends always buy this and I really hate it because I have like 15 new numbers from him already. And sometimes if you want to talk or send him an sms you don't know what sim he uses so I need to miss call all of its number just to be sure.

If my friend did that by texting me with more than four different number in a month, i probably will not bother to call him back at all, if he was to question me why i try to ignore him, i will tell him not to send me too many different phone number, his action is confusing to me. Unless he stop buying bargained sim card in the future for his own convenience and not trying to be a cheapstake so often with all these new numbers, he needs to stick to just one or two permanent number for me to call him, he can forget about me calling him back whenever he left me a message. It is too bad if he can't accept that fact of life, then he shouldn't be calling me at all.

That is right, he probably never receive my text if i reply late, when a new sim is used after a short while. So usually i don't bother to call or text back if it is an unfamiliar number from my always changing sim friend, he will not mind either most of the time.

And sometimes I'm suspicious if that new number really belong to my friend or not. lols. That's why its important that we need to check also if its really a legit message or not. that's why unless its a call I usually ignore the call. lols.

You really don't need to call just text back. And I guess he don't mind also if you don't text because he will not going to receive your text if you reply late anyway. since I'm sure he already removed the sim and insert another one. lols. A person like this usually don't give value to its sims. The only value that person give is the free text he can send.

It's very common in my country. Why people like to do this? 1. They very active on using phone but they had limited budget. Let me said like this: If I reload my account it gonna cost me $1.5 but if I buy new card, it only cost me less than $0.5. 2. Their primary number had long expiration but with zero account. 3. In many cases, they use it to trick someone In the past I also use same system (I have dual simcard phone) but on ending conversation, I'm always adding: " don't save this number. If you want to call or message me, use my primary number"

You may know my country in my profile ..... What can I said, I'm very busy in the past but my budget for phone limited. I must do it, 50% of my budget cost is for transport. If I increase my phone budget, it will ruin my income.

50% of your budget just go to transport? that's really a heavy toll to you. I guess its better you start walking to save some fair. Me that's what I do. I walk like six kilometers just to save some money. But I don't do that every day. My office time before is 9am to 6pm. I wake up early 5am take breakfast and walk and reach office 8am. then I go to the wash room take some shower and I'm fresh to go to my job and I save money and have exercise also.

I am irritated on this kind of scenario. I have to save all the 15 numbers just able to locate him/her and talk to him/her. I hate this scenario. I encourage them to to stick on the SIM they like to used. Or next time they will be sending message or call to me. I will not reply to them. I will give them ample time to decided which number to stick. I will spend 15 pesos just to reach him, and 20 pesos for the credit to make a miscall. But in bright side If I am register to Unli to All Network I can reach him/her. But I don't know which if this number will reply to me.

hahaha.. its seems you have the same bad experience as me. Anyway. I'm happy that I don't reply to their sms if its more than 10 minutes. Meaning I only reply if I receive the txt and I will reply right away if I just read in after few hours I don't reply anymore unless its say that can reply on that sim number. I just treat is as just borrowing mobile to send sms.

hi there, that's the same thing with my ex friend hehehehe i say ex because i don't think she can be my friend anymore, she asks so much from me and i try to help her but i know she is only coming to when she needs something. so i am done with her, i don't want to trust her anymore. so yeah, she changes her number too always. she told me that her mom even told her to stop changing her number because it seems like she is running away from people hahaha i don't know what's up with that. but i myself changed my number a couple of time already because it is either i get it blocked because of the security settings, or that there are people who are up to no good bother me by calling and texting me.

I guess if she don't consider you a friend but a bank then your not her friend at all but an atm. lols. To be honest its okay to help but theirs a boundary between helping and supporting. I mean if she comes for you every time she need something its not helping anymore your supporting here. lols.

Tell him that. Tell him you having a hard time trying to contact him with his several numbers. Its not like you are always subscribed to unlimited load right? Tell him to assign an official number among his 15 numbers for his friends wherein they could use to contact him easily.

I guess many times I already told him that. Beside he knows that too. But I guess he just like using cheap sims for free text. Beside if its free why not use it right? I think that's kind of mentality is hard to rewired. Anyway I just remember that you can swap your old sim to new sim plus that new sim has extra load. That's why its tempting.

Eventually he will realize the value or importance of having a single number for contact purposes. I just hope there will be no emergency of some sort that he will be contacted urgently but cannot be reached because of his numerous number of phones. Just a thought, why not set up a get together with your friends, but do not invite him. When he asks why he wasn't invited, tell him you do not know where to contact him. lol

I have also such friends who used to change their telephone number when he sees news offers. Within 2 months he had four new sim card and he uses all the ones within a single cell phone. I had asked him why he is doing so and I had told him about the after affect of the matter but it doesn't care him. I think our government should have new rules and regulations about this issue. I just mean that government must allow to use limited number of sim card for students. Mainly such habits is manly from tha part of the children who is found of sms and gprs offers .

I think our telecom company will going to protest. But I do agree. As sim is very powerful tool especially again terrorist and criminals and scammers. I suggest that each sim number must be registered first and pay deposit fees. In case theirs some problem that deposits will be forfeited. In this way sim card will be regulated.

So how much sim do you have with you ? Do you use them all ?
@bulastika (5966)

Do you mean how many? I have three sims right now. And yes I use them all. Because of the unlimited text or sms features. With just half a dollar you can have unlimited text for 24 hours. So if my friend is unlimited I can be unlimited as well. that's why I keep three different sims.

I have never heard of this issue of $1 sim cards let along half a dolar sim cards that would be a issue as everyone would have hard time staying in touch if everyone were to do this lol best bet just buy a new one in a store instead being cheap and buying a 1$ sim card just seems little fishy with price ... i would seriously avoid those as can buy used pre paid phone with or without sim from $20-400 depending on which phone and company you were going through. Best of luckk LoW~!

Get over it, the SIM nowadays are worth very cheap. You can always buy with a lesser amount and be able to change anytime. So if you want to hide from someone, then you can just switch to new number with a little hassle in part. Then, also, this new SIMs have its load or balance on its own that allows you to text and call at the same time. So what more can you ask for. If not for some important persons in my phonebooks, then I would do the same to save. Life today is hard, harder than it may seemed.

I guess that's true. But its also important to keep one that is your main number. Me I'm afraid to keep on changing numbers because I don't want to miss something out. I don't like to keep on changing numbers because maybe a friend will text me and think its still my number. or if I update them that its my new number then the free text well end up being used up. lols.

I hate it when a person changes his number every now and then. I have a colleague that is like that and I do not text her much because I don't know the current number she is using. Sometimes, if there are important things need to be texted to my colleagues, she doesn't receive it. And whenever she complain, we just answer that it is because we don't know what number is she using.

Her number just goes alive each time she needed something. lols. But I guess that's what life is all about. If you need something you can connect.

Its just going to be deleted. Beside phone numbers are save in the phone and not in the sim. so even if he keeps on changing numbers he still knows our number. Problem is to the people he is sending a message because you don't know how to contact them. Its frustrate me because I have three friends that is doing this. I think its because of poverty or something like that.

i have not heard of that here in usa.. but i personaly hate changing my number it is auch a pain even for my home phone.. and it makes you unreachable as well unless your trying to hide from bill collectors lol.. a story that reminded me of one day i had issues with my internet provider and they told me i had to come to there store to fix the problem this was my interent before and i had to drive to the main store and it was about a hour and half drive and everyone i knew was busy so i had to go by myself and so one the way down thre i spent my time looking at directions so i was busy with that and on the way home i was like i need to talk to some one i was getting sleepy driving the trip alone and i was tried from being out all day i had about a 45 minutes left to drive and i did not have any numbers with me.. so i thought of my old childhood friend from 1st grade .. had not talked to her in years she is still living in the same home town i use to.. so i tryed the last number i remembered and to my suprise her mother answered and i said lilly what are you doing at regina's she said im not you called my number and i was shocked one that i had remembered her old number from like 42 years ago and i was amazed that her mother still had the same number as well..so she told me regina still had the same number as well and i actualy remembered it too.. so that taught me too if you keep changing your number people cant reach you, and you never know when someone from your past may have tryed to call you a goood friend or a old boyfriend.. if everyone kept the same number we would not need facebook lol sorry not a fan.. so im gonna try and keep my same numbers from now on and by the way i did get to talk to my friend regina it was fun to hear from her as well..

Wow 42 years? Nice memory. Me I can't even remember my own cellphone number nor my landline. I guess I'm not calling myself so how can I remember? Before I memorize the number of my ex but not anymore. I guess time move, time changes and what is pass is always forgotten to give room for new memories.

hahhaha.. that's really something. Well, actually I am guilty of that too, but not too often as your friend is. I do that basically because I am hiding from someone, or someone that I hate knew my number and I don't want to be disturbed so I change. YEAh! I know it sucks but hey, I know your friend has his own reason too just let him know your concerns so that he can tell you what number you send messages.

Some people just don't want to be found, or perhaps he just really likes the deal of paying such a small amount. At least he is telling you all of his new numbers! Therefore, you know that you are a friend of his that he wants to stay in contact with. Just keep one name for him under your phone and change that number to the new one everytime. No need to keep all 15 of the other numbers that have already expired.

Hello bulastika :) I have a same experience too with my friends.. In Indonesia, you can buy cheap simcards.. Some of my friends are like to buy new simcards and then change again after a while.. Yes they bought the simcards because the simcards almost expired and very cheap.. I hate it when I got messages from them “Hi, this is my new number, please safe it!” then several days later I got the same messages from the same person but different number.. If I must to send them message, sometimes I call their number first to know which number is active at the moment.. But if I’m too lazy, I will send the messages to all their numbers.. *sigh*

Yeah, sim cards are very cheap these days, especially those sun sim cards. That is a bad habit but maybe he is just saving money- but at least he should have a permanent sim card that his friends can easily contact him.. it's not that hard to maintain a sim card.

I guess theirs must be a new law that each person must register its seems and pay deposits. In case the sim is forfeited or loss its deposit will be forfeited. In this way its going to be hard time for individual to have new sim. Also each person only allowed to have one sim per company.
