Its funny that many who are dropouts has own a company and become millionaire if not billionaire. While some go to school, study every night and trying to maintain high grades only to land a job in a company of a dropouts.lols. To be honest I admire does drop outs that go out and take a risk and has been rewarded. Life is just full of risk. the way to handle it is the way to make money.

I didn't finish my college and I was thinking of going back to school but I got married and had a kid. So I decided to open up a business, and luckily my business was doing good! I think you make good money in a business than working as a regular employee.

Yes, for me it is better to be employer than an employee. I am a government employee and I feel like I also want to have a business of my own. Sometimes, I feel like rather than putting my money in a bank, I would rather put it up in a business where it has the possibility to earn more. I am now thinking of showcasing my business online. I have realized that promoting your job online is one way too to gain many customers.

@chicgale I guess with a beauty like yours its hard to put men at bay. lols. that's good that you open a business I'm wondering if you can share what kind of business you have right now? Me I open one business failure to another. @annierose I'm looking for a work right now especially in the government. I'm 32 years old already and has no job since five years ago when I resign. I applied in NEDA, BIR, GAB, and pass all the written exams. sad to say after the interviews its seems they forget about me already. I'm wondering if theirs still an open position in your office. May I know what government agency your working right now?

I love doing business my own.Being self employed is lot better than being an employee.I'm running my own business now although sometimes its hard doing this my own I believe it works well through God's will and grace. Having our own business will make all challenges into ones life, because we are fighting with our own capital and we are making ourselves win the battle. That behind the business no one to be blame and to be rewarded but our self. But before getting to run the business I have to think how can I manage those challenges if I don't have enough knowledge to do it.First, we need to think education still play the most important role of knowledge. When we finished our study its ourselves get beneficial on how knowledge contribute to get the business run. Happy myLotting!!

Having business of your own requires great knowledge on what field your business is. May I ask what kind of business you have there? Are you doing it long time now? Well, I hope for the best of your company. Having business means being responsible and always putting efforts on making it grow more. If you fail to put it on your priorities, then your business will fail as well.

Life is full of surprises. In our country, it is not easy to earn money fast. Education doesn't give you 100% guarantee that you will be successful in life. Your success still depends on you. No matter how educated you but still you lose the confident to apply for jobs and compete with other people, your education won't make sense. I had read a line before that says that success is a combination of luck, inspiration and perspiration. I don't think so that those dropout people who are now successful in life got their success in just a snap of a finger. They do not have their education but in their case, their use their strategies or tactics to be successful.

I guess that's true. And the worse part is that you can't find job because your under qualified. You can't find job because your over qualified. Now Its okay if you are not hired because your under qualified. But you can't be hired because your over qualified? Its really does not make sense to me.

Hi bulastika! Why choose when you can have both? Don't set aside education. It is the greatest foundation we can have to be able to face all the challenges in this world. You can have your business if you want but I suggest that you finish your studies. I have a friend who is really successful in his business career. Yes, he is a millionaire but because he was not able to finish his studies, his confidence on himself is somewhat affected because of this.

@aries1973 Actually what I'm pointing out are the likes of owners of facebooks and microsoft who did not finish theirs studies to pursue their dreams and succeed. And just like other entrepreneur who only started at their home and become billionaire right now. Me, I graduate and even find a job but I resign and open a business sad to say one business to another its fails. @magtibaygom Just read my answer to aries1973 its the same.

Yes, I agree with you. Why choose when you can have both? And don't they know that if we compare in numbers, the number of people who made it to the riches, there are more college graduates who did than college drop outs. Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Michael Dell, to name a few, are just the lucky ones. Most drop outs didn't make it.

going to school doesn't guarantee you to become a millionaire or even get a good job, it's up to you if you use what you learned from school then your in the right track, and if not that's a problem lol.

That's true. But at least you have some fighting chance. I mean its better to have a a diploma than to have nothing to show at all. But guts do pay really. If you want to earn money you need to be fully equip both in papers and in skills. Sad to say I'm not that lucky. Been out of work for five years now.

I think this is about anyone's dream. To drop out of school and have a successful business is not as easy as it sound. Why don't you stay in school and open a business? It can be done you know. I would imagine the odds on opening your own business and becoming successful is quite low with todays economy. Now is not the time to do this. You need an education first, then play later, so you have something to back you up. Taking risks means losing money most of the time...be careful what you wish for.

Everyone wants to be a business owner but it really hard to succeed, in the while , to be an employee is more stable and you do not need to face some much risk. You know , the number of employees is always larger than that of employers.

Studying is really important to all people. You have to have knowledge on anything you like to know. To stop studying and opening a business can be hard specially when you have no idea how to run a business. It's better to be educated first and start as employee. From there, you may develop your skills and soon think of starting a business. When starting a business it's better to study first all that is needed to keep in mind for you not to fail on your chosen path.

A business is much better than just having a job. Even if you don't earn much, the self satisfaction makes up for many of the downsides. But as you say in your other posts, it is difficult to decide which direction to take. You have to be versatile, be prepared to make mistakes, and start again from scratch as many times as it takes.

Actually its not the direction that is difficult but how to achieve that is what is difficult. I open a lending business and its fails, printing screen business and its fails. I been in forex and stocks and its fails. Now I loss every thing and have some debts also and have no stable income or job.

it is just depends how you think of. you can finish your study first then only go for open up a business. for me, i think you can get some experience from work first, and after that only you decide you open a business. life is full with risk, no one can expect what will happen in the next moment in our life, so just do whatever you like =)

Actually im a nursing grad but its so hard to get job in our country im thinking now to open up a business or something. Im saying even if you graduated or not, you should have your own business aside from your work. Business is a lifetime but working you have your retirement age but business don't As my bro always told me.

I do agree. its good to have a job and a business. that's my mistake when I have a job I resign to open a business and my business fails. I think its better that we going to invest in business while we have a stable job. In this way we earn and same time have extra source of income.

I wouldn't say completely dump school altogether, but it is always a good idea to have a backup plan, just in case things don't work well with school. Especially with today's work environment, and economy, nearly everything is uncertain. It would be good to learn something else to do, even if it is learning how to make money on your hobbies. As much as I like going to school, it is not getting anywhere for me. There are too many politics in school, and all of them are affecting me going in a negative way. Right now, I am coming out because I can no longer afford going, and I do not want to take out any more loans. Also, I am searching for a school that is more towards what I want to do, which would help the number of class I have to take. In the meantime, I have been working on several other projects including writing books. Short stories, mostly, and try to sell those. But the main thing is to try other things to see what works for you. There are some people who are not college material. It is best to find out as soon as possible so you don't waste money on college.

Well the people who dropped out and have become millionaires and billionaires are people who are way to smart for school and drop out because it is to easy or it bores them. Go to almost any high schooler and ask then do you truely want to be stuck in school right now? And most will say no, people stay in school because it helps get a better job. If people are already smarter then most people their age then power to them.

It is funnier that even many more who got dropout are having difficulties to find a job.. It is inappropriate to use that sweet fact to justify our stupidity and laziness that lead us to drop out. That successful people, such as Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, got drop out because of their willingness, and at least they knew what to do after being drop out. And who say that after finish study we will always be an employee and can't open a business? And who say that all successful people in business got drop out before?

Truth be told, there is no short cuts in life.So if you want to dropout to avoid the annoying study process and get rich quickly.I think that's need your full re-consideration.We just saw some billionaire like Bill Gates,Steve Jobs dropout before, but you never know that Bill Gates sold his first operation system program via his mother's recommendation. His mother worked in IBM!! So I think dropout isn't necessary for getting succeed. You need come down to earth and do you own things well, the success will come automaticly.
