Newcastle continued their fine run of form with a 2-0 victory over Bolton. Goals from Ben Arfa and Papiss Cisse sealed the deal for Newcastle. With Ben Arfa's goal is probably one of the contenders for the goal of the season, Papiss Cisse continued his fine goal scoring form with his 10th goal of the season since arriving in the summer transfer window. With this win Newcastle go level on points with Tottenham and have really thrown their hat for the Champions League football next season. The contest is now between Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea. So who do you think will pick that final Champions League spot? Cheers! Ram

There are actually two positions up for grabs. One is the third place which is an automatic qualification. At this moment Arsenal are the big favorites for this spot. And the second spot is the fourth place which will be a playoff and I think Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle are all fighting for this. Cheers! Ram

Arsenal is currently 5 points ahead of the chasing pack with 5 games in hand. Next up, Newcastle and Spurs are tied on points but Spurs are ahead on goal difference. Finally Chelsea are currently 2 points further back in the chasing pack. Cheers! Ram

Newcastle is definitely the surprise team of the season. No one would have expected them to be fighting for a top 4 finish. Ask the Newcastle fans and they would tell you that Alan Padrew appointment was not kindly taken. But he has done his job quietly while adding some good players to the team. Cabeye, Ba and Cisse, all good addition. If they do finish in the top 4, then this season will be deem as a success. Maybe it can be a platform for them to build on.

What has really stood out is the eye-catching business in the transfer window? Sold an over-priced Carroll and brought in Ba and Cisse who have both been the buys of the season. Also the resurgence of Hatem Ben Arfa has really lifted the team. Cheers! Ram

I dont think most of the Newcastle's fans would have expected this. Pardew was not a popular manager but he had done good things to Newcastle. New players like Ba and Cabeye did really well in their first season. The January transfer of Cisse look like a bargain buy for them. If Newcastle can keep the players and with a few more additions, they will be a good bet to challenge for the champions league spot next season.

Actually the fans were not at all happy at the sacking of Hughton and the appointment of Pardew. Now he has turned around the Toon fans with this fantastic season. I think his scouting system seems to be doing good for getting all these smart bargains in the season. Cheers! Ram

I definitely hope so, i love Newcastle being a Geordie and all that. We've played some fantastic football in the last few weeks on a minimal budget. Feel privileged to even be associated with CL particularly as we were in the Championship only three years ago!
