Hello everyone ! I would like to share with you a dream that I have like 4 or 5 times for the past mount. I am dreaming of how I am hunted by mysterious people who are trying to kill me. I can't see the look of their faces, but every dream they are different and they hunt me at a different places. My last dream was very weird. I was at my home ( I live in a house) and I was at the second floor when I heard from the bottom floor that this mysterious mans are coming. I get out on the deck and I drop myself to the bottom floor. I usually am never scared when I dream that I've been hunted, but at this dream, when I drop myself to the bottom floor, from the door comes up a very old guy who isn't at the second floor with the others and he looked at me and smile. I don't know why but I was incredibly scared when I looked him in the eyes. I usually never woke up for those kind of dreams, but I woke up from that one really scared. Any help ? What do you think this dreams mean and what should I do to stop them ?

Usually bad dreams take place when you are under pressure cause you can't sleep deep, at least that's what happens to me, whenever I'm under pressure I see bad dreams from time to time.

Well you can't be sure of what's wrong, one good thing you can do is doing something relaxing before you sleep. A bath, some music, a video-game anything that suites you.

Oh yea, I forgot to say that I woke up a lot at the night. Like 4 or 5 times a night and I don't think that's normal. I don't wake up because of a bad dream, just wake up don't know why. Well, listening to all suggestions, the problem probably is pressure. I guess my part is to figure out from where is that pressure come from. Thanks a lot for the reply lakantar. Is it possible to be because of the thing that, when I woke up at the middle at the night I eat something and then get back to bad ? I've heard that nightmare could be cost of a spicy food too.

Yeah, that's pretty darn scary. I'm no dream-interpretation guru, in fact I don't even believe in the idea of dream interpretation, so really the only thing I have to say is have you been watching any horror movies lately? As the first poster already demonstrated, dream interpretation can be about as personal as your weekly horoscopes. Isn't everyone trying to overcome an obstacle, indeed! Gee thanks, subconscious. Way to be specific to the brain you live in. As for getting the nightmares to end... personally, I believe the best way to prevent nightmares is just to cut the nightmare fuel. I don't watch horror movies, read horror books, and I lock myself in my room until Halloween is over. Not really, but it would be better for my mind if I did. Last Halloween some friends talked me into going into a haunted house. I had nightmares for weeks. Never again. Other than that, drink some herbal tea, try to relax, and read happy books before going to bed. Wish I could say more.

Hello and thank you for the advices and oh yea I forgot to mansion it that I never watch horror movies or read horror books. They are too scary for me so I stopped them. My last horror movies was like 3 or 4 years ago. They are just not interesting to me. That's why I am so curious why I keep having this nightmares and it's definitely not because of a horror movie or a book, but thanks for the guess.

Ah well, it was worth a shot. I still have nightmares too, even though I shun horror... so I know it's not entirely foolproof. I hope you do figure out how to keep that nightmare from haunting you and have some pleasant dreams instead.

Hi I too have some reoccurring dream, according to some, this dream where you are being chased by people means that you are trying to overcome a difficult task or a goal, are you being pressurized by some people, may be your schoolmates or teacher...

Well, I don't know, maybe that's true, but aren't we all pressurized by trying to overcome difficult task or goal. I'm not sure, but maybe you're right. Thanks for the help buddy. I'll take it in mind.

Don't worry, that kind of dreams don't have any bad meaning at all. I believe they come from your subconscious mind. Maybe you have some "things" undone yet. Just accomplish any tasks that bothers your mind. Some times you do not realize what they are, so you have to write down on a paper every unfinished tasks and every unsolved problems, along with their action plans and solutions. Then do it one by one. Once you have accomplished this tasks step by step, you will feel better. Don't forget to collect as much happiness as you can during the day by doing activites that can make you happy. Last but not least, prayers are quite helpful too sometimes... I hope you can get rid this nightmare things very soon. I wish for your good night sleep and happy dreams.

Many are the times when we dream of thing we have been through earlier in our lives. Something strange once encountered can bring nightmares later. I really don’t know how to stop dreams from occurring but since when dreaming the brain is actually much awake, maybe you should try pills that are meant to reduce brain activity at night.
