Is the tradional artist a thing of the past or going to be obsoleted because of Digital art is so much crisper and sharper in colors and you can manipulate it more etc...? Do you think there will be oil paintings be done in the next 20 years or will it be computerized? Thanks Unique16

Certainly digital art has its place and popularity in our artworld - it was inevitable thanks to technology. But, I think oil painting and water color and other media will always be around. I come from "old school art" ... and personally I think it takes an artist who knows how to do old school art to truly appreciate what can be done with digital art. I love oil paint and water color . . . and the process of it with the materials. Sure it can be done on computer, and it can be manipulated so much easier . . . but it's not as gratifying to my hands on art sense. The computer is less messy, less waste, less a lot of things in a good way - but it will never take the place of having FUN doing it the old way!!
