They completely ignore our section of the store!

The section of the store I work in is known to have the fun, teenager style apparel while the other side is more grown up. Even the girls I work with are young, outgoing, and fun. Well, it always seems that the rest of the store pretty much hates our section. People have told me that since I started working there and I'm really starting to notice it first hand. We're supposed to wear headsets so we can talk to the people in the back to do "stock checks" and also to communicate with whoever we need to in the store. Well, it seems that everytime someone from my side of the store asks for a stock check, we just get ignored but someone from the other side will ask and get it taken care of right away. The managers treat us like we're children and are always telling us to stop talking even if there's no customers and we're being productive. I've also started to notice that I get ignored on the headset too. I have to ask for stock checks many times before I get a response. They even ignore me if I need to go on break or if I'm asking to leave because my shift is over. Today I had to ask to go on break 6 times and ask for a manager to come over before I finally was able to go. And it's not like I was asking to go on break too early either. I had been there since 6 am and by 12 I was starving and wanted to eat my lunch. I really don't like being treated unfairly and it's starting to make work unenjoyable. I dread being there and the job really just stresses me out when it shouldn't at all. So many of the girls are leaving and I think I might start looking somewhere else where I'd be a little more appreciated.

So, aside from that problems you have with that 'new' manager, you also have to deal with this in your section? Seems like enough reason to really find something else. I hope you already started looking for other jobs. If not in the same mall, maybe in other stores.

I'm starting to get fed up with being treated that way. We're treated as if we're still in high school while the other side of the store can do whatever. I haven't had time to look for something else yet though :( I've been really busy with schoolwork and my job now..they're working me 6 days a week and I don't have time for much else at the moment
