Why are so many people in this world so ungrateful ? I purchased my God Daughter a name plate necklace off of this site recently...she is one . Long story short , her mother and I are good friends ..The necklace is gold plated ..so not real gold ..but she is a baby..she doesnt know the difference and for that matter it probaly will end up broken ...anywho , I had mentioned it to my friend ( which is my god daughters mom) that the order hasnt gotten here yet..so she asked me the name of the site and I told her..she went to look at the necklace and read the description of it and said " it's gold plated " not real gold ! so Im like well what does it matter, she is just a baby..its the thought that count...if you want your baby to have the best of the best why dont you buy her a real gold chain ! . I just think that is very rude and negative..specially when someone else is doing something for your child..what do you guys think ?

I don't even understand this buy a necklace for a baby-craze... especially the baby-sized ones... they can be nice memories, but nothing practical. I just don't understand why people are whining when someone is doing something nice for them... as if they were perfect...

Exactly what I am saying..when someone else is doing something for you you shouldnt be complaining ..this makes me not want to do nothing else for the baby...I mean..she is just a baby..she doesnt understand.

I totally agree with you. I would be really upset with a friend who reacted like you didn't spend enough on her baby. It's the thought that counts. You didn't have to buy anything for her baby. Gifts from the heart mean more to me than expensive gifts. I have been to a few baby showers recently. One particular shower I made and took some Sesame Street items that were so cute. I also bought a nice gift for the baby. The handmade gifts were appreciated more than the expensive gift. Again, it's the thought that counts and the time involved to order online or go out and shop. A personal gift shouldn't be about money.

how does she said that? sometimes the closeness between two people can really exceeds limit. and sometimes you will say things that you think is okay and will not hurt your friend because you think she will understand what you say. i also ask my son's godparents about my son's wishlist for Christmas or Birthday. but i am always grateful to whatever they give my son because like what you have said, its the thought that counts. and the fact that they are being generous to my son and they love my son are something to be thankful for.

She should have been grateful for the thought of you giving her daughter a gift. Real gold or gold plated, it doesn't really matter. I hope your friend have realized what she has done wrong.

When you give or are giving a gift the receiver does not ever need to know where you bought the item or how much you paid for it. It was rude of her to ask an then very rude of her to say it is only gold plated. I don't ever expect expensive gifts for my children from anyone. If they are to have something that costs a lot it is usually from me, and if anyone takes the time to buy something and think of my kids I would just be grateful instead of rude. She has no manners.
