How big do you want your muscles to be?

Some people wanted muscles as big as that of professional weight-lifters like Arnold Swazeneger. Some peole just wanted to have a good stomach muscles with six pack. Some wanted to stay slim but with a cut body, and others wanted to be really stocky. How about you, what is your preference and how much muscles do you desire for your body?

Despite what everyone keeps telling me, I prefer to have the large bulging muscles. I always wanted to be big and strong, but I wasn't sure about how to do it, but I ended up getting big anyway from playing football. I like having big muscles because it gives me confidence, and I feel more comfortable having the large size and brute strength. I like that I weigh as much as a horse (I don't really, but right now I am 5'9" 335 pounds, so to normal people, I am a horse). The biggest I have been was 5'9" and 353 pounds. While this is insane to comprehend for a normal person, I felt my greatest here. I was at my strongest, and I still had agility (playing football really helped me handle that kind of weight and still be able to run. I know when I have gained weight judging by how heavy my footsteps are, or how easily things break. The way my body is reacting, I would probably end up being 345-350. Having this strength and muscle means I can do a lot more than a normal person, or do things that didn't seem human. If there was a 'complaint' about this, it would probably be the amount of food I go through. I am basically my own family. I rather be a musclebound monster than a smaller person. I just want to pack enough enough muscle that is safe for me, my frame, and my body.

I can imagine your stature attracts immediate respect. Everyone probably wanted to be your friend and no one wanted to be your enemy. When you go to the fitness center, you probably use the heaviest barbells available...those barbells I almost can't even budge, being only 5'6" and weighing 154 pounds..lol.

My size does draw attention, and comes in handy most of the time, and it keeps me out of trouble. I never really thought I was as big as I really am, and I think its because I still have my agility. A lot of those guys who just live in gyms to get freakishly big, but they can't move all that well because their muscles are too big. I like big muscles, but I also like functionality as well, so I try to make sure that I don't get too big. My size is deceptive in that, although I am big, I weigh more than I look. There's some people I hand around with who are bigger than me, but weigh less than I do. I have come to the realization that I am some type of freak because what is normal for me is insane to others, in terms of the heavy things I move (my job likes to exploit that they have a set of muscles on their team so they work them), the constant appetite, and the things I do in the gym (I can't lift the heaviest barbells yey, but it won't be long). I am trying to see how long I can be this monster of a gorilla while I am still young enough to be a monster of a gorilla, and it not affect my health.

I am actually amazed that you can be agile inspite of your weight, and I think your agility is a gift. But as you said, you don't look so big as to your weight. I think if you just keep on exercising and you can carry your own weight without problems, I think your health would be okay. Anyway, what does your doctor say about it?

I don't like big muscles at all especially in women. A well toned body will do for me. I am not looking forward to building muscle and my preference is only to be keep fit and maintain desired weight appropriate for my height.

Same here. For me, my ideal fitness goal is to have strong muscles but not bulky. I like to have a slimmer body frame but not too slim but with some cut as a result of light to medium-heavy workout. I want to especially get rid of my bulking stomach now, and hopefully later on gain a slimmer waist...not just for looks but also for general sense of being healthy. I also am not so attracted with women who are muscular, but slightly toned is also good. I feel women's sexiness is based also on their softness, and having a lot of muscles makes them similar to men.

I wish you well and I believe you get where you want with dedication. I totally agree with you when it comes to women.

I personalty believe people should love they way they are. And if they want to change then that is just sad. But I guess wanting big mussels is ok as long as you do it the right way. No steroids and no over doing it. I also personally don't like big mussels on my men i believe it is gross but that's just me. i don't care if other people like it doesn't bother me and really looks don't matter if I found a nice guy with big mussels I will still be with him.

It's a good point that you stressed on the more important things, like personality. Anyway, generally most men have a tendency to feel more confident and a sense of pride when they reach their desired level of fitness. At the same time, for men being fit is one good sign of being healthy. You are right to assess that some men do it due to insecurity and lack of self-confidence, although others does it as a kind of challenge similar to getting good at the sports they are involved in. I like to think of getting fit as a challenge to gain better help and confidence, because it's not an easy task to be fit as it takes a lot of discipline and hard work.

I was a very thin man once. Then I decided to go to the gym to get myself to gain weight and grow some muscles. I just wanted a really proportional cut body. Like some visible muscles in the biceps, chest and arms. That would be okay. I've realized that it's hard to grow and maintain muscles especially in the abdominal. Cos everytime I finish exercising, I always crave for food. That destroys my effort in abs exercises. I wanted to maintain a buff figure with muscles that attracts the ladies enough. hehehehe

I agree with you that abdominal muscles is one of the most difficult to maintain, especially if you like food and eat a lot...like me. haha. Having muscles is not only for figure, but when men has it they could do a lot of physical work more easily. Some people actually do it for other reasons, like not to be bullied anymore. When they gain more muscles, those who bully them before may become scared and stop bullying him. I could say that is one kind of victory through working hard to gain those 'intimidating muscles' :D

Well, there is not mater what you want if you don't deserve it. I think bodybuilding is not only building the body, it's also building the mind as well. Wanting something and working for it, gives you a task to complete and that makes your life more meaningful. I was 57 kilograms when I started to train and now I'm 85, but when I started, I just wanted to improve my body and I had a high bar. I wanted to be, maybe not like Arnold Swazeneger, but maybe like Dwayne Johnson (The Rock). I think we all should have high bars to our dreams. I'm 85 kilograms with little under skin fats. My target now is to increase my muscle mass and then burn my under skin fats. It would be hard, but I got the whole time in the world so I don't rush for anywhere. I hope you accomplished you goals, because that's what brings happiness! Wish you the best !

Hi Extourmed, you look great in your avatar picture! Congrats for having attained such fitness because I know it's a difficult task and not many people can have the discipline necessary to attain it. Yes, I think achieving goals...whatever goals they may be can make a person happier. ?hanks for your wishes. I think your dream of having a body like Dwayne Johnson is close at hand. Good luck!
