Why is it when you have money, there is nothing you like. But when you don’t have money, you like and want everything?
That’s a question I have asked myself for years, yet never seem to come up with a viable reason. I mean sure we can say that we always want what we can’t have, but surely it goes beyond that when you do actually have the money to get it, and can’t see what “it” is..?
I need new clothes. I put on weight about 3 years ago. And bought new clothes. Then I lost weight, so those clothes no longer fitted me, but I didn’t loose all of it, thankfully [as I had been quite skinny, too skinny] .. but needless to say my old clothes, before I put the weight on, are still marginally too small. So therefore, I need new clothes.
I’m an ebay addict and have seen lots and lots of things that I want on ebay, but we’ve been really broke recently so haven’t been able to afford anything. We’ve been shopping in town, and other places and I have seen TONS of things I want.. yet haven’t had the money! So haven’t had the chance to buy my new clothes.
But then recently my partners dad handed her a cheque for £500 to do something nice with it. And she decided to give me half of it to buy myself new clothes.. well that’s where it ended. Here I am, 4 days later, 2 shopping trips into town, and a lot of hours on ebay, and still new-clothes-less. Everything I seen that I liked, either isn’t there anymore, or I don’t like it. And the clothes that are there, that are at my disposal to buy.. I don’t like or want. How does that work?

I passionately hate clothes shopping when there is something specific I need. I remember a horrible time when I needed a certain sort of black trousers. I had to shop for days and days before I found any that fitted, I could afford AND looked half decent.
Thank goodness I can now dress like a tramp day to day! Today I have on a pair of mens' trousers held up with a bungee cord!

Ah, but you ARE looking for something specific. Clothes. I guarantee you that if you scrap the clothes idea and go out looking for a washing machine, or a pair of shoes, or even just leave all your means of payment at home, you'll see loads of great clothes.

the worst is though, i'm not even looking for anything specific. i just ned new clothes. for general day to day wear, and obviously work lol! and my head is brutalised lol!
trust me, i'm dressed like a tramp today too.. maybe not by your standards, but by mine i look like stig of the dump.. i think it's because i'm ill! infact thats the excuse i'm sticking to lol!

Wow, I never had that problem, I always can think of something I want or need, or something to buy for one of my children. I have been in a situation where most everything I wanted to buy was more than the money I had. For example I have 20.00, yet the cheapest item I want to buy is a 25.00 item, so I either save up more or buy something I really wasn't wanting for less.

hahaha!! carm, it's burning such a hole in my pocket at the monute i have to stop myself from spending it on gifts for my partner. in actual fact when we went clothes shopping, she spent most of her £250 because i kept telling her everytjign was gorgeous on her. i'm an hourglass and although most women want that shape its hard to dress when you ARE IT!.. she's leaner and taller and everything looks great on her lol!

Oh I know what you mean, she is one of those who fit into the cutest clothes, right? That is how my daughter is, I go into her size and I see a ton of clothes I'd love to wear, but get into my size, ugh...Old women's clothing..:P So I really have to shop around to find some nice clothes..

i'm the same. i have a teeny tiny waist, curvy hips and bum and huge boobs.. typical jessica rabbit/betty boop/marilyn monroe shape, which EVERYONE wants.. yeah, they only want it because they don't have it!!
my chest is a 34DD, so a size 12 in clothing, my bum and hips and thighs are a size 12 [uk sizes] .. but my teeny waist is an 8 or a 10.. meaning NOTHING FITS! i either have to get the 12 and wear a belt, or the clothes just don't sit right, or i have to get a 10, and never breathe again.. it's awful. all those women dying for an hourglass figure, DREAM ON lol!
whereas my partner, she has a nice bum, nice chest, and just slim all over.. so everything sits perfectly. hateful isn't it lol!

oh that happens to me too. like when i have the money and ready for shopping, i don't see anything that i would like and then sometimes, i see but they don't have my size and something like that. but there are times when i don't have money, ahhhhhhhh i see a lot of things i want to buy hehehe
i used to shop online too, i got so addicted but i stopped myself a long time ago already. there are things i want to get online but i am just waiting for the right time, like i don't really need it yet.

i think i'm addicted to online shopping. i wonder how one becomes addicted to online shopping? i mean.. i hate shopping in stores, so i wonder why i like shopping online so much? maybe it's because i do hate stores?

Well, i have never encounter this situation since i always have the needed for more cash. Usually, when i have the cash, it won't be enough for me to buy something that i like. So, what i did was keep saving and in the end, buy something that i like. I like to save money when there's nothing interested for me to buy. But when i buy something, i worth as much as my whole saving. So no, i never have this situation in my life because there's only something i want if i got the cash, but most of the time i will short on cash to buy something i want. Because if i we're you, if nothing interested to be, i would just save it for future, many things can be bought someday. Having too much cash is not a problem, it's an advantage so we can continue living for the coming days or just buy something we like, sooner or later that time will come. It's better if you have family of your own, since saving cash or money is the only thing you would think of to get your children to school, college and universities. It's also to avoid problems such as debt and so on.

oh please don't be mistaken. i do not have too much cash! i just have this extra cash as a wee one off to get myself new clothes lol. but thanks for the advice. i think i will put the money away and save it, and then when i see something i like, i will have the money there. thanks!
