what will u do?
usually what happens to me on this special day the moment i became with child is do something different each year. Last year we made reservations at this upscale food place but the resturaunt was already booked for the rest of the year so we didn't go. Im a pretty simple wife..so when it comes to celebrating me i just like to keep it simple. My husband thinks that i have HAVE to have the most expensive thing there is, and i tell him every year u dont have to do that for me. But he does it for me anyway. This year he's gonna clean up and cook and work..in other words he's gonna do what i do every day. so instead of me doing the cleaning and the cooking and the laundry..he's gonna do it! that's gonna be something interesting to see. I have seen his work and its kinda sloppy-when it comes to fixing our girls' hair ha its funny! But at least he tried! I could always tell when he fixed Lina's hair because its not brushed and its lopsided haha! I have learned to appreciate the little things he does for me and i have learned over the years to not make such a big deal out of it, life is too short. And on fathers day im taking him to Louisianna. He loves it there.
The first three yrs I bought me some jewlry and i told everyone it was from him-which it was!- and when i did, he told me to take it back. I got mad and didn't come home for a week. he got the idea that U DO NOT TELL UR WIFE TO RETURN THE BLING BLING! it was a lesson learned..

If he won't buy me the stud earrings I want and have been asking for since our anniversary in January, I'm going to do the same thing you did - do him a favor and buy it myself, with his money, of course. I'll surprise him..lol.
For my mom, I'm going to buy her flowers and treat her to lunch or dinner and buy her a new outfit.

LOL!! thats scandalist!!! but the good kind...if there is a such thing as good scandalist..oh well! do it! make him see the light(the light being ur way)!
how long have u 2 been together? I have been with him for 8 yrs and married for 7 come this new yrs eve..sometimes he is a diffucult man. for the 1st 5 years i had to practicly buy myslef something with his money- give or take a few times-and when he asked'where did u get that' and i would say u bought it for me. and his jaw would tick like he wanted to say something but i know what he's thinking most of the time! And after our second daughter came along, i swear, he got even more clueless loL! But its getting better and better each yr!
i think ur mother would like that very much

i dont mean to laugh but that sounds funny!! our husbands sound alot alike haha! My sisters' ex husband is a nice man and everything but he's too much of a guy kinda like mine. she ended leaving and later divorcing him and she is now single and rethinking about giving him another shot...i told her to go for it because anything(just about anything)is better than being alone on days like these. I am going to buy me some perfume or something..i havent' quite made up my mind yet but one year i bought me a bracelet for $20 and he noticed it a few months later and asked what was that and who bought it for me and i was like u did. dont u remember? i mean he was the one that said to 'go buy urself something nice' this man is difficult man. he really is. he's not considerate. he only thinks of himself. but we are working on that stuff and its going slower than i imagined..
if he gives u an empty box-throw it at him! not hard or anything lol! but he shouldn't give u an empty box. mine did and i didn't talk to him for a week. u know what he said?! he said the box is full of his love..bull crap!!

We're just on our 4th year as married couple. He actually buys me stuff once in a while, but I'd like to be there with him to choose what I want. This time, he totally forgot about the stud earrings I was asking for earlier this year. I tried asking him what he's going to give me for mother's day, and he gave me a really puzzled look. I'm going to surprise him before he could surprise me with an empty box.

..ummm i dont know.. hehe! mothers day is May 12th. when was mothers day in the UK?!
On mothers' day this year I am going to make my mother lunch and make a like a pic book or something of our family and tell her how important being a mother/grandmother is.

This will be the first mother's day that my mom isn't here with us. She passed away last year and it has been so hard for us her children to celebrate holidays without her. I guess I would make sure that there are fresh flowers near her urn and might pick up her favorite food. But I will definitely be sad and might even be crying on that day. I never married when she was still alive because I have had to shove my personal life to take care of her since she had cancer. But for those who still have moms or is a mom out there, advance happy mother's day!

Speaking of firsts. This is the first Mothers day in 25 years that I will be a single mother. My ex husband always made sure my kids did something special for me. Last year my youngest was in the hospital following major surgery on mothers day. So that was how I spent the day....by her side " like any mother would"

Your husband is so sweet! Well, I am not a mother yet so I guess the mother's day celebration here in our home will be for my mom. Normally, my siblings and I will just buy some gift for my mom but I think this year, I'll be preparing an Italian dinner for her and the rest of the family. I am currently working on the menu and I could only hope that my mom would love it. May you have a great mother's day with your family!
