Need a little more information here. Do you mean that the clock and all are losing their settings? Are you referring to open programs not opening again when you re-start? What operating system are you using?

That's why it' important to know which operating system he is using. The default action for the power button icon in Vista for example, is to put the computer to sleep. This could have been changed to restart, if that is truly the issue he is having.

There a number of potential problems that could be causing this, and I would not take any one persons suggestion as the answer since there is NOT enough information to make a choice. A lot of people are saying virus, which is could be, but if all you are noticing is files you saved before are no longer there and nothing else... a virus seems... unlikely. From the limited information I have, it sounds more like your computer is automatically going to a system restore point. When you turn on your computer watch it boot all the way up, does it go straight to your OS or does it do anything weird/not normal while loading?

I think he means whenever he turns off the machine then turns it on again anything he has saved is now deleted. Well thats how I read it anyways. Maybe s/he will post more info as without that it could be anything at all.

Hello friend, Actual I think you should reboot your computer with any anti-virus software. So after that it's may be your computer will all right. Have a nice day.

We need more information about this. What I can deduce from your problem is it was like your computer does a system restore everytime you shut it down but a system restore won't remove any saved files which makes now more like a reformat process . Wierd that a computer should be acting that way but I think you really need a local technician to service your computer.

Well, you need to take it to a service center. Maybe it has a virus on it, which most problems are like this. In addition, there is also a computer application like deepfreeze which do not allow users to save data for a long time. This application can be modified which sometimes, it enables the computer to automatically delete all saved data when the computer is turned off. Well, just like the other said, we need more information about your problem however, i think is is caused by a computer virus and no other way to remove it is to put you computer unit in a repair shop. :)
