It is said that pair is decided in heaven. One of my relative is unmarried at the age of 42. I tried marriage sites but results were poor. If some one have knowledge of a girl from north India of upper cast send me PM. He will accept a widow or divorced without child.

Don't you think there might be a reason why he is unmarried? I find it weird also that he sets the rules for what is acceptable or not. I think it's more important to find someone you can count on and love instead of demanding what is acceptable or not in advance.

I agree with you, but things are slightly different in India. It is a different attitude and men are given the upper hand here although things fast changing now .The problem is the system of arranged marriage . I too feel that since he has not been able to find a suitable match so far, it is better to some serious introspection and then accordingly plan something...

I probably shouldn't make any comments on this thread/topic, but it is interesting somewhat. It seems like cultural expectation at some places that people at a certain age should get married. I am wondering if he really wants to get married. How many girlfriends he has? What kind of social lives he has? It's easy for me to ask these questions from the perpectives of someone living in a Western culture. It's not just asking, but we can help by wondering why. By figuring these (from the questions I ask), we may or may not help the relatives or any family member. Marriage or dating sites have become a trend like many social networks. People start hooking up online and form relationships from online chit chat. Still, forming relationships take time.

probably, you can ask your unmarried relative to exert more effort for himself. it is quite difficult to have others do it for you when it comes to this very personal relationship and matter. i guess and assume that your relative also wants to get married. i know your country has its own tradition and system of marriage. but there is always an excuse for breaking them at times.
