One good thing that might come of it is that at least someone is investigating - or might try to. Yes, I believe that this administration is after the oil industry. They would like to cripple our economy and oil is such a big part that if they can take it out, they've destroyed us. Oh, am I talking about OUR government? For a moment there, it sounded as if I were talking about our enemies... I try to stay cool, but it doesn't always work out that way. My son works in the oil industry. It looks as if their purpose is to destroy his livelihood and put him and his wife and baby out on the streets along with a lot of other hard working Americans.

I hope it doesn't happen, either. And I hope it isn't too late to change the way things are going.

I listened for years when people were bad mouthing the trucking industry, and my husband was a trucker. Now it is the oil compaies as well We need to stop targeting hard working people who get the job done. Yes, there are alternative fuels, for some things, but we need the oil industry and the transportation industry if we want to continue to have food and goods in our stores and crops in our fields. American farmers could not continue feeding 150 people each if they had to go back to farming with horses and oxen.

I have been hearing this in various places lately and it is time for it to start. I agree that we need to decrease our reliance on fossil fuels, but I do not think we would be who and where we are without the oil industry

We do need to get serious about alternatives, no disagreement from me there. BUT, the oil industry employs MILLIONS and pays BILLIONS into the economy and in taxes. I had the link and posted it elsewhere, I will look again, but they are 8% of our GNP. I know that. And considering that oil drives everything else, from transportation of goods to oil by products used in manufacturing. WHAT ELSE can they be up to? If they bring down this industry we are back in the dark ages. literally

I see that I was distracted in my response--I was being hurried out the door. I meant it was time for the attacks on the oil industry, to try to destroy it and wipe it out to stop, not start which is what I wrote. I have seen other people quoted as attacking and seeking to destroy the oil industry, and like you, I know it would be a disaster for the country.
