Do you give training to your pets?

When we give training and rewards to our pets most times it can do better. Do you give any training to your pets like constantly talking to them?

We have three cats and are learning how to teach them not to scratch on the furniture. We watch a pet show in the mornings and it is very informative. I also get a newsletter from a vet as well. Just like when training kids I think we have to be consistant.

My father loves to teach our dogs in proper sitting like a trick. They also know the basic command and ask me something if they like to go out or to eat. I know there moves if they want something from me and ask them and they answer back by barking.

Our dogs know all the basic verbal commands like sit, stay, down, etc.
KNOWING them and RESPONDING to them are different things entirely though. Sometimes I think they ignore us just to annoy us.
