Do you think that listening to each other is better for a relationship?

I believe that you have to listen to your partner in order to make the relationship work. That way you can talk things over, sort out problems and tell the other how and what you feel. This way your partner can adapt to you and you can adapt to your partner. It will make life more interesting and you will be able to enjoy life. If you keep everything to yourself, you will become bored, annoyed and easily angry. What's your opinion?

I think all things are like two way streets especially in a relationships. Both must practice give and take. Partners are two different individuals and have their own distinct characters. So for a relationships to last the couple must understand each other and constant communication is a must.

That's exactly what I mean my friend.Constant communication, understanding and respecting each others opinion.

True, but you can work to that. With listening. If you listen to your partner, you will get to understand your partner. That's the most important.

I believe that aside from trust and respect and of course love, a relationship needs constant communication. That is why most long distance relationships fail because of the lack of it and sometimes, misunderstandings brought about by miscommunications. In any relationship whether it's a loving relationship or even the simplest relationships with friends and family members, communication is still a key ingredient. And when we say communication, listening is more important than talking. With listening you get to at least come closer to understanding a person's point of view and see where your relationship really stands.

Indeed. Trust, respect and love are, of course, important too. But what keeps a relationship alive, is communication to the other partner.

Yes, you certainly need to listen to your partner in your relationship because if you don't then you won't know what they really want, and they can always be a problem.

You'll probably mean "that can always be a problem", but I see what you're trying to say. Talking is so important, when it comes to a relationship ;D

I think you are right. To have a healthy relationship, you should listen to your partner. And likewise your partner should be of the same type too.If both parties in a relationship are not willing to make sacrifices for each other it can never work out.

Then it can indeed never work out. Everyone needs someone who can listen to what he/she has to say. And your partner is the first one who you will count on.

I agree! Even in friendship, a good listener keeps the relationship stronger and it bonds more. The feeling of your are comfortable with that person because that person is always willing to listen, that alone will make us happy because they can confide everything. And in return, that good deed will also be given back to you when time comes you need someone to listen to you.

Yes! It's also very needed in a friendship. But it's a lot stronger in a relationship of course. And having THAT feeling, that you can count on someone and that he/she listens to you, that's great.

I totally agree zammeee, It best that for any relationship, be it parent-child, lovers or even friends...Talking and listening are two important points of communication, if you just keep on talking without letting the other person speak its going to be failure so people should learn to communicate with each other.

The golden rule of friendship is to listen to others as you will have them listen to you later on. If you don't listen to your friend, he also may not listen to you and this may effect your bonding or relationship later on as there will not be anything left to exchange between you two and both of them will be unwilling to listen to each one's talks which might be worse situation to handle. One needs to talk a lot with his partner to make the bond stronger instead of cutting it down to make it weaker. Communication is very important in maintaining a very healthy relationship

How would you be able to say that you have a relationship without talking? How will your partner know if you beginning to annoy him or not? If you were to continue with such status, it would be best to let go. He or she does not love you but treats you like a trophy instead..

A trophy, maybe. Or he/she does not like you as a person, but thinks that you're good looking or that you have cash. It's hard to find someone that's not after your money if you're rich.

Ofcourse Listening is important given that you listen and also give your reactions. Communications is the most important part in a relationship.

It's important to know how your partner/friend or the one you have a relationship with (family) feels and thinks. so it's important in each relationship to communicate one way or the other. If you are not willing to invest in other people you better stay alone and far away of them.

That's true. But as I said, not everyone does it for the relationship itself. Money is a fair reason to be with someone (not to me, just in general).

I thought two people can only become partners after they found that they like each other and want to be together. Without communication how did they know each other in the first place to become partners? Of course, we have to listen and talk to our partners or else we will become strangers instead.

It is very important to have talk with both of them and get all the issues to compramise. Without a lisiner or a teller commmunication is not possible and it is very important to find the problems in life and the solutions to solve them.

That is right. Listening to each other makes a relationship better. It is healthy for a relationship. Make you understand each other.

Of course I do! I think a relationship to work well needs understanding and trust and the feeling that we can always count on each other... and that really counts when one person isn't feeling well in a relationship or something hurts them.

If you're going to stay with somebody for a long time, then one of the most important things that you could do is certainly to listen to them. If either of you have a problem, then you have to make sure that you talk things through with your partner before they get any worse, because at the end of the day if you don't do this then the problems are just going to end up eating away at the both of you until things get so bad that you no longer think that you could remain in a relationship with that person, and that would certainly be a great shame.
