does good look a big factor in becoming popular

i just can't understand why some singers would just shot into fame. although they have popular songs. but i do think there are so many good singers out there that don't get to fame as fast or get to be popular at all . so i wonder if their looks got to do why they have so many fans. although i don't think they are good looking at all. their fans say their idol is.

The good looks and the interesting personality are very important factors if someone wants to be famous. Talent doesn't always comes first, and there are multiple examples of good looking boys and girls, with a little talent, that become popular and they have so many fans. When I was a teenager, as a fan I was equally interested in their looks and their talent. And sometimes I was listening to the music only because I was "in love" with the singer!
Fame depends on how people present themselves in public and their managers make sure that they promote their best advantages (which might be the looks, the talent, the humour etc).
