Sad, Cause I Will Most Likely be Paying OOP

I'm sad now cause by the way things look when I go to apply for charity care tomorrow I will most likely be "shot down" due to something they require me to bring with me. I just wonder why can't things ever work out for me sometimes? All these hospital/Dr things are gonna cost me plenty and that money was supposed to be there for me for my old age. What makes you feel better makes you feel emotionally worse, too. At least in my case. I have had such a run around with that charity care today it is nauseating. Couldn't find the place they sent me to 2 X and got different informtaion on how to go about getting it, but now I think it was just all wasted energy anyways. Plus a few things with the exam, etc. were soooo nerve wracking. I thought it would come to this but, I'm not ready to be sad again.

Personally I can relate because anymore too many places could Care Less about your Health and just want your money even if you have to starve, etc. I wonder how many of them have ever had to deal with it, and personally there needs to be more help for those who cannot pay for sure. And each agency is different. The main issue is the finances... They totally scrutinize this one, and feel if there are 2 people married and working then they can both afford things even if it means $1000s of dollars being paid out for Medical care even after what insurance pays. So it is a stressful situation and something I wish was not really there.

hey cheer up, i dont like seeing you sad, :( makes me sad as well.. i am going to say a prayer for your life to get better. i do beleive in the power of prayer and i know without it my life would be a wreck, God got me thur my last court date and it turned out great, and he got me and my daughter and hubby to get along .. for now anyhow and he has kept all my family safe just as i have asked.. use prayer often in your life and you too will see the changes.. i know its hard when we deal with things we cannot control and we feel helpless.. but God has a big plan for you and your life and you are special to him. so cheer up :)

I feel badly because my husband had to take a lot of money out of retirement for my copays for my treatment, too. It drives you crazy. Even with insurance, you can be broke.

So you have no insurance or Cobra? And you can't get on any charity programs? You need to call Medicaid. Surely they can help you with your surgery and so forth. It may take some paper work and time but it is worth it. If you have savings then use it and make it up. You're young and have plenty of time to make it up.

Don't be sad, NailTech. You need to try and find strength to get through all this. I know, it's easy to speak like that and it's very hard to do it. But maybe you are lucky to have this charity care. I know a man who needed to undergo a special operation and it was a vital need for him. Our health care insurances cover only the basic things so this man had to pay a lot of money. He is too poor and finally he survived just by chance. We don't have charity care. You can get help only if you are a popular person and somebody starts a campaign for donations. You just try to calm your nerves, try to think positive and have faith in the lucky outcome of all this. I don't pray but my thoughts are with you and I hope that my energy will do something for you. Have a good luck!

Gee, I'm sorry. I don't really know how to respond. Charities don't like to give money to people who are saving money for their old age. I'm probably going to go through the same thing though.. I'm applying for help with my medicare premium.. it's 99$ a month taken out of my social security. I probably won't qualify at all. Right now I have some savings, but it is just there for rent and food for the rest of the month.
