my dreams could be true

dreams, they say are things that you think about(frequently) before going to sleep. it's like thinking of things that you want to happen or something else like that. but i just wonder, is it true that if you would tell other people about your dream, it will not come true, contradicting the saying DREAMS DO COME TRUE. people also say that, there will be times that your dreams happen or it had really come true because you will be in a particular situation that you couldn't remember where it last happened. as they would say, DE`JA VU. so does this mean that dreams really do come true or it's just that i'm paranoid and think of it as it really what happened in my dream?

I think that's just superstition. I'll admit it, I'm a dream teller. I tell my dreams to family and friends all the time, it's one of my favorite pass-times I think. But then there are some dreams that I don't tell anyone, and none of them have ever come true. (though in some cases, that would be really nice) I have experiences deja vu, but I think that phenomenon happens just because of coincidence. I just LOVE dreams, but I don't think they hold any subconscious, symbolic, or prophetic meaning. I think they're entertaining and inspiring.

I don't think there's much of a possibility that it's true. I've heard the superstition stated many times, but never a convincing story about dreams coming true or predicting the future. I've heard some unconvincing stories. As for whether or not humans have a sixth sense, perhaps. There's some unstudied ground there, to be sure. But I don't think that dreams are typically prophetic.

Yes it could just superstition, but there is always a possibility that this is true. There are still many things unexplored in this universe so nothing is really impossible in my opinion. This is like asking whether you believe in ghost or not. Some says its just superstition but there are still many people who choose to believe otherwise. To add on, I personally feel that humans may have more than five senses which is oblivious to us and in this case we can see it as our ability to predict things beyond normal limits in dreams, which is good.

When i saw this discussion, i just feel like adding on that there is actually a Chinese belief that dreams are always opposite to reality, which means that what you dream and what will happen later in real life will be completely opposite, or rather different. So, dreaming of something bad happening is in fact a good sign that something good will occur in real life. At least this is what the Chinese ( me ) believes. Personally, i have experience DE JA VU quite a few times and i could not tell whether its something that i dreamed before or is it due to something similar i did before in real life. But i must say, its a weird feeling.

it's a weird feeling, right. :) yeah, some people really do say that it is really the opposite. i just hope it's not THAT true because i dreamed of someone i have a huge crush on. i just hope it would come true (in good) :)))

I think that a lot of us will dream about things that we want to happen, because it is the only way sometimes that we can get close to that reality when it is not very likely to happen in real life. However, I think that most people will usually just dream about things that have been on their mind during the course of the day whether that is good or bad. I know that whenever I am watching something on television I will start to dream about something similar that night and it is obvious why my brain had been thinking about that topic in particular.

I sort of agree but, what about people who have nightmares? Your not thinking about horriable things when you go to bed so why do people have mightmares? I think dreams come true but, for a dream to come true you cant just wait for it to happen you have to go out there and make it happen.
