Camp NaNoWriMo begins in June

Limbo Dancing to the Winning Post - This is me, in Devon.

I've talked about NaNoWriMo in another discussion. It's an annual event that invites writers to write 50000 words of their novels in the month of November. And what a great umbrella it is to work in - structure, daily word percentages, forums where you can moan and groan about how tough it is! But now, NaNoWriMo is back in the months of June and August as CAMP NaNoWriMo. It offers the same goodies and support for writers. It targets the same amount of words to write to be a WINNER. And it cost absolutely nothing. Unless of course, you wish to make a donation. I've signed up. Which of you budding or established writers are going to join me at Camp NaNoWriMo in June or August? Which of you is going to set aside a whole month and dedicate it to getting grist to the mill and writing that novel you've promised you will - "one of these days"? Which of you are going to 'Limbo Dance to the Winning Post' this summer?

What are the details? Is it a "real" camp or a virtual camp? Is there a link to a website you can share with us? It sounds intriguing. . .

It's a virtual camp, you can find it at www.campnanowrimo.org If you know what NaNoWriMo is, it's basically the same thing except during the summer.

I'm signed up to do Camp NaNoWriMo in June! I did NaNo in 2009 and 2010, but because of all the mad horrible happenings last year, I didn't get to do it. I was planning on doing it again this year (and I still am) and I was getting emails from the Office of Letters and Light about Camp NaNoWriMo and I figured... why not? I don't know about Limbo Dancing to the Winning Post... but I'll be writing this summer.

Good for you! I'll maybe catch up with you on the forums. That'll be great.

I didn't know there was a camp nanowrimo. I intended to join nano two years ago, but i was in college so I didn't have time to write at all. I was only able to write two chapters haha... and I'm afraid i won't be able to join this time again because i have a job that demands a lot of time and energy. It'll take a lot of inspiration and imagination in order for me to be able to write under such stress.

Why don't you try August or November? Might be worth a shot??
