I like Chinese food, but from what I've heard Chinese food in the west as I know it is complete different from what they serve in China. I've seen a lot of shows done of the food channel about the diversity of Chinese food and all the food looks so delicious. I seriously wish there was a restaurant around me that would serve authentic Chinese dishes that come from all over china.

Well, speak of that,i really love my mom coz she cooks really well. When i was a child and we have a Chinese restaurant,i think i've definitely learned some from her.So maybe one day i'll help open an authentic Chinese restaurant in the abroad.lol.

I think that would be a great idea and you could probably charge high prices too because of the lack of authentic Chinese food in the USA. If it is anywhere near me I would definitely try it.

Here in the Philippines, we have a lot of Chinese restaurants, because most Pinoys love Chinese food too, and i am one of them. In fact, we Filipinos are influenced by the Chinese cuisine, because we would always cook noodles, springrolls, siopao and many others. Chinese foods are really very flavorful!

Thank you Philip for that offer. I can cook many Chinese recipes actually. It's just that , it's easier and convenient to just buy them , specially those intricate recipes on paydays. That way, i can really enjoy eating them with my family. However, those siopaos and srpingrolls, i can buy them any time i am out malling.

I love Chinese food! I live in Los Angeles, and we literally have restaurants of any culture - so any version of it is here (Szechuan, Mandarin, Westernized or as they say bastardized, etc). We admittedly eat the fast food version as it's near us and cheaper. Some of our Chinese friends don't like go to the "regular" Chinese restaurants - they go to the more homestyle places. So through them we've learned about the smaller places where they serve stuff like onion pancakes (instead of the typical menu items like chow mein). And through them we've gone to Chinese banquets (like weddings) where there are all kinds of fancy seafood/meat dishes - again, not typical menu items. Oh - and we enjoy dim sum too on occasion too - but rarely these days. I also cook my own version of Chinese food - mainly soups and stir fries. Oh, I should mention that I'm Japanese-American . . . and in my family, I grew up going to Chinese restaurants whenever there was a wedding reception (different from those fancy Chinese wedding receptions) - and I loved going to them to eat!!

Hey,my friend.I'm so glad that you love the food and i think it is a smart choice to go to the homestyle places and i also think that it's more real food.By the way,i have to say that i just so love stir fries, especially fried eggs with rice. That's basically the food that i eat when i'm a child.

I love Chinese food too- some of our foods are taken from Chinese food. and we just put our twist to it.. I also like western food, but not those fancy ones..sometimes, it's kind of hard to tell what country a food came from though.

Hi, I lived in China for 10 months so I have had PLENTY of Chinese food! =) It took me a while to get used to it, but after figuring out what I liked and what I didn't, I loved it! By the way I am American.. I also like American Chinese food, but I consider it something very different from Chinese food in China. Here are a few of my favorites: Hot pot (Huo guo): the options of what you can order seem limitless and you cook everything by yourself. Some places let you make the sauce yourself too and it is absolutely delicious! Wish we had this where I live in the states. Douhua (don't know how to say this in English): a dessert made from tofu. There are also many variations of this and many different things you can add. My favorite is barley. Tanghulu: tasty sweet candied fruit. My favorite was the kind made from strawberries. Stinky tofu (chou doufu): self-explanatory, though I honestly don't think it is stinky. xD I had always loved tofu but didn't get to try this kind until going to China. I love the fried crispy kind served with pickled vegetables... Dumplings: I'm sure we have all had these! China has so many different kinds, my favorite are guotie (potstickers). Yum!!! One thing I missed in China is CHEESE! Cheese is amazing and basically nonexistent in Chinese cuisine... luckily there is plenty of Western food available in China, it was there for my cravings! Haha.
