Selling Online

While I was still working full time, I worked online at places like here to earn a little extra cash to put in my pocket. Now that I've been made part time (with a pay cut as well) I'm trying to make MORE money to help cover my lost wages. I've had an etsy shop for years, but haven't sold much there. I recently started selling at Yardsellr, and have actually done surprisingly well there. (If you've never heard of it, yardsellr is like a yardsale or garage sale on facebook. You sell new or used items you have that you don't want anymore.) Since I was doing so well on yardsellr I started an ebay account for the first time ever, and listed a few things with no bids. I would have thought that between the two ebay would have sold MORE, because it gets higher traffic, but maybe not. Do you sell anywhere online? One place or more than one? Where have you had the best luck? Is there an item that sells better than others for you?

I am also selling online. here, we have Sulit.ph site. I posted my cloth diaper there and I also make a fan page at Facebook. My shop just started and the items will be on hand by 2nd week of June. But many already made they reservations. More than half of the items are reserved already.

I have a fan page, but can't get any follower to it. The few people who did follow it were people already friends with me on my main page. Sounds like your shop is off to a good start!

I wonder if you try blogging? You can get likers from blogging by joining the free bloggers event. You can add one link of your choice but you need to post something about the giveaway or event at a specified time. It is so easy, and my fanpage for my blog already reached 2000 likes. My fan page for my online shop is just new but with helps of friends and Sulit.ph, customers are contacting me and place their reservation.

Yeah true, they will never win if they will not do the task. But the giveaway thing works for me because from FB fanpage likes already reaches 2000+ likes. I only join free blogger event/sign up since I can't afford to host my own but eventually I will.

I added you as friend. I saw your posting about Yardsellr and just joined. Does it take 24 to 48 hours before your items are in the block? Can you PM more about and where I can find you as Yardsellr and I hit the like button and is there a favorite or bookmark your items there? There is also about putting the Tracking code in Paypal when you ship item if you forget you do not get paid by yardsellr is that correct? Thanks for help answering the questions Have a great Memorial day weekend Sincerely unique16

I thought you automatically went into the blocks when you listed, but I've honestly not looked for my own stuff in a block before. If you buy your postage online you get a tracking number for free. I buy my postage from pay-pal because you can buy first class postage from there but not from the usps website. If you don't get a tracking number or forget to put in a tracking number, you will eventually get paid, when the buyer gets their item and lets Yardsellr know they got your item. If you DO get a tracking number and enter it, and get your payments through pay-pal, I've always gotten my payment from yardseller about 2 days after I put the tracking number in. The only real complaint I have with them is that they only sell within the US. But whenever I share one of my listings of FB or twitter I try to tell my overseas friends to contact me if they see one they like and I can quote them a price to sell it and ship it to them outside of the site.

I've never had any complaints about the buying fee. And since I've bought some things I can say it is very reasonable. The fee is higher the more expensive something is, of course, but the most I ever paid in fees was between 5 and 7 dollars for a $30-$40 item.

Hi nonersays, Thanks for the reply and about the tracking number. That does explain it better. I understand about interantional orders and I did not know that so that was a good tip. I also read about the Buyers have extra fee when they buy something has any customer ever complained to you about? I tried looking for my under blocks and cannot find them. Does not even find my name. I will wait Till Tuesday to see if that works. Thanks and have a great weekend Sincerely Unique16

No, I cannot seem to get up the guts, or get organized enough to take the risk. I do not go to FB enough to make it feasible to sell there. I saw the seed bead inspirational bracelets you make and I really like them. It seems like you never can win when it comes to income and expenses.

I have on organization at all, other than the small things are crammed in a shoebox marked "For Sale" so they don't get misplaced after I list them. I'm fond of my seed bead bracelets. Thinking about making more. I've had one lady ask for a cancer awareness bracelet. I thought about trying to make different awarness bracelets, then thought I'd feel like a bad person trying to profit off of it.

If someone asks for them you should make them. They will pay someone, so it should be you, at least you care.

I'm on pinterest, and post everything I have for sale on there. I usually get some re-pins on my jewelry but I've never made a sell though it.

a pleasant day nonersays, with reference to your main topic, i always try my best to sell online products. however, it seems that having a luck on this is not for me. although there are inquiries from prospective customers and clients but, i didn't receive yet any orders. as i was thinking, maybe its not yet my time to shine on this matter. but, i am still hoping that everything will come just in time. hence, there are days that i somehow loose hope if i have really the luck for online selling.
