I love finding different firefox add on and testing them out when i have time to kill so whats your favourite firefox add on?
Currently my favourite are
1) Alexa sparky
2)Fasterfox 3.9.8
3)Speedfox

Yes it does work for me like a charm. Initially i thought it was just another useless add on but i still downloaded it and tried & to my surprise it is amazing and my firefox is even faster at navigating pages than before. With this addon firefox has become the fastest browser currently for me.
There are different settings you have to download and see for yourself. Personally i use turbo charged but sometimes you can switch between other settings to see which works for you

Web of Trust, and Download Helper- to download videos off of the internet. Since I'm obsessed with security on the internet, all my addons except Download Helper are geared toward security. Fasterfox sounds cool, but I go to About:Config to make my Firefox superfast. Onetime I made Firefox so fast, I nearly crashed Youtube!

Hi:
I have this DAP video downloader I use to download all sorts of online videos including the weird ones. I don't know if speedfox could really speed things up? Maybe I should try it too.
It is the Speedconnect I'm having but I don't think my speed has improved, I still slog along at 30kbps on clear days.

If you are talking about download manager, i am currently using Internet download manager and i think i will continue using it for as long as it is updated.
So far i have tried many download manager including dap and i found out that only IDM allows my download speed to become the maximum for my bandwidth.
