The Philippines is so lucky to have grown plantation of coconut trees. The coconut tree is said to be the tree of hundred uses. From the the trunks, the leaves and the fruits there are numerous uses. The trunks can be use as lumber that could be use in building houses or in making furnitures. The lower innermost part of the trunk considered a yummy vegetable. The leaves can be used as roofs of shanties and the hard part from the middle of the leaves can be made as brooms. The palm with the leaves can be used as well as walls of huts for temporary shelters. The coconut husk with the shell can be used as schrubs in cleaning the floors. The husk itself can be used as ornamental pots for flowering plants such us orchids. The husk and shell can be used to as firewood in cooking food. The coconut meat can be made as sweet delicacies, candies and important ingredient of fruit salad, buko pies nata de coco and sandwich spread such as the macapuno. IOt's also one of the sources of cooking oil. The coconut milk can be used as primary ingredients in cooking food, baking cakes and being made as shampoo. The young coconut meat plus the coconut water can be made as fruit shakes, plain juice and ice candies. Still so many uses this tree unmentioned. How about you friends is there any tree or plant that has several uses as well grown at your country?

Hi bing, I have never seen a coconut tree but I see why it's said to have so many uses. I like the different foods that can be made from the fruit of the tree as well. I don't know of any other tree with so many uses. Blessings.
