hello lotters! i realize recently that I'm going to be 21 in a few days and that I now feel like a real adult. But, looking back, I am filled with fondness for that young, awkward, and painfully naive me. That made me who I am today because of the mistakes that I've learned especially during my teen years. Anyway, if given the chance to write to your 13-year-old self, what would you write? Here's my letter for my 13-year-old self. Dear 13-year-old me, You think you'll outgrow your love for anime and cute things like teddy bears and pandas, but you won't. Don't let anyone judge you for this--- it doesn't make you immature. It just means you're staying true to yourself. You know best what makes you happy. Love, Your Future Anime-Loving Self=)

Dear 13-year-old me, You will survive. Those people aren't going to be there to bother you much longer. You will talk your folks into letting you go to a private school for a couple of years and then you will be back there only a year - and really, a year isn't that long. You will find people who like the same things you do. You will find that you aren't the only one who remembers and loves The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Horses will still be important. When you leave home, you can have a cat (or a few cats.) No matter what, your parents do love you and want the best for you, even if they don't always understand you. Nothing lasts forever, but you can keep the good things if you want them. Your older self.

Dear me, There are going to be a lot of times in your life where things look like they are going great, but don't let that deceive you because there is never going to be anything in life that is easy. You are going to make friends in your life that you will lose touch with for a time, but realize that they are some of the best friends that you will ever be lucky enough to have in your life. Be strong through everything that happens to you and your dreams will be able to come true. Love, Yourself at 32-years-old
