the hardest choice for a father..

is to choose who to save his wife or his child..I saw a documentary a while ago and it was abut the victims of a flashflood.One of the stories that touched me was when a father had to choose who to save, his wife or his son, he chose to save his son first since he was just a child and couldn't swim.. Sadly his wife died.. but he said he had no regrets.. and he will raise his son as best as he can.

Usually are like that, my father would prefer his son than his wife because surely she (the mother) must also be sacrified for their children.

Yes, the mother will do the same thing if she had a chance. But really, it's a very difficult decision for the father because both are dear to him. And we also knew that his wife understand what he had done.

Yeah, I think so too and it's natural instinct for us especially in such a situation. I think the father also wants to save his wife but due to circumstances he may not have the chance. And he had not regretted what he had done, in fact he said that he will support his child all the way in memory of his wife.

Really a hard decision for the father but I'm sure her wife will do the same thing if given that chance. As a parent, it's our basic instinct to save first our children if we are to choose in any given situation. Because we care so much for the welfare of our children.

Yes, it's natural instinct for us parents, either father or mother to save first our child if we have a chance. Because we care so much for our children, and in this situation the father proves it. He also said that his wife understands what he had done.

Yeah, really a touching story which I think most of us don't want to experience. Imagine, having an option but this father have no second thoughts in choosing his son rather than his wife or maybe because of the circumstances which favor his son. But I guess, in such a situation either the father or mother will do the same thing favoring to save their children rather than their partner.

My heart ache for the father too. It is a very hard decision to choose especially between love ones. But I think his wife favors it given a short time to decide.And any parent(mother or father) will do the same thing in that given situation.

It is something hard to choose. I think it is the worst thing a person would have to do in their life. Not everytime is it possible to save everybody. But i have seen some stories yet they tend to save the child first because they havent live anything in their life yet but still needing to let go a lovd one is very hard.

Yes, given such a choice will hunt us for the rest of our life. But I think, any parents will most likely do the same thing if they happened to be in such situation. It's human instinct to think first for the safety of our children.

That is really sad and devastating.
I will always choose my kids.
But there are also situation that may turn the event.
What if the son is too far from where the father is- and the wife is just a hand to reach out- maybe that is another situation.
But in most cases, parents always choose their kids and that is an instinct.

Yes, it's really a painful decision this father had made but as we all know parents, either the father or mother will do the same thing if it involves the life of their children. As you have said, the decision may vary if the situation favors the other.

I think too, that the mother or father who faces such a difficult situation needs a quick thinking. The longer he/she decides could mean lost of two lives.It's a very difficult position so, let's just hope we don't get involve in the same situation.

A student of mine once asked me that question. I told him i would choose my son of course. I could get another husband but i could never have another son as smart and handsome as i have now. 
Of course it was a joke but there's some truth to it. You see, my husband would rather have me save my son than him. We are both getting older and we have already done our purpose somehow and that is to have a son. So it would be the best choice because he has a lot of future ahead of him than us.

Yeah, to some it may be a joke but for most of us, it's the truth. As parents we care so much about our children and we would sacrifice everything for their sake.
So whoever of the parents, the father or mother caught in that situation will most likely do the same thing.

Yes, because of the predicament he's in at that time he need to make a decision which could haunt him the rest of his life. But I guess almost all parents will do the same thing if they experienced the same situation.

I think you always have to go for the child first. A mother could never forgive a father who let his son die, and I'm sure if it was a mothers decisions she would save her child as well. It's a shame someone had to make that decision.

Yes, either of the parents will do the same thing. I guess it's the natural instinct among us, because we care so much for them. And parents will do anything for their sake even if, it could mean their life.

I felt sad for the father who wants to save both yet he have to choose only one. There are really times in our life where we have to make decisions that are painful yet what we must learn is that we must not regret our choice just like the father who chose to save his child over his wife. It's not that he love his child more than his wife but the circumstances gives him no choice. My prayers goes to that mans family.

In such a situation, quick thinking is necessary because two lives is at stake which are both dear to the father. And in that instance he have to decide who to save. I think the mother will do the same thing if she is in her husband's position.
