Hi MyLotters, please assist me with paypal account. Today i have a new user to sign up with MyLot but she has problem opening a pay pal account. I have a PayPal account but it was so easy to sign up then. Here i give you the scenario, PayPal ask for a certain bank account to receive the transactions, i did not face this before.

It was not like that before, i am also from India and i created my paypal account without giving any bank account or pan card no. or credit card info..though it was an unverified account but i was able to do transactions from it, Later due to RBI(reserve bank of India) policies they made compulsory to add a bank account, PAN no. and I had to did it because i couldn't pay anyone only receive money..

Hi maurya83, that was exactly i did when i open PayPal account few years ago, no bank account or credit card no required. After reading you response i guess i have to check my Paypal to check whether i too need to open an account or give my credit card no. too. Thanks Maurya for the infos.

Is your friend from India? Because of restrictions imposed by the Reserve Bank of India, Indians have to specify a bank account and a PAN code. If she doesn't have these, she will find it difficult or impossible to open a PayPal account.

Thanks for your response owwlings, i am from malaysia so is my friend. I guess the rules are the same for every country now. But the bank they suggest to have account with is not the largest bank here in my country, thats why i query.

The rules are different for each country and I don't believe that Malaysia has a PAN card, so you don't need to worry about that. PayPal only accepts certain banks and certain types of account, however, so this may be the problem.

I am not sure which country the new user belong to. But for myself being an Indian, I had to submit the bank account number and other details along with the credit card number of that particular bank which was registered with paypal so that paypal can verify it and transfer immediately the money earned online by me to that bank account in India. While doing it, paypal debits twice some small amounts from your account by means of that credit card, which you have to pay back to your bank in India and then subsequently returns the amount to your account in India and this is done as a part of verification of your bank account in India. So first of all, verify whether he belongs to India.

In my opinion that question is normal. Why ?? Every Paypal users gonna cash out / withdraw their money someday and the only way to do it is using bank account. So, Paypal admin want to make sure their users had access to particular bank. This also to identify user is real person not fake.
